Modern Avatar the last air bender

Chapter 2: Dr.....

Katara wiped her brow as she looked up from her operation. "Give me a scalpel." she demanded the nurse passed her the tool she had asked for. Katara pulled a marble out and dropped it in the waiting pan. She turned away and started stripping off her gloves. "Stitch him up and then wake him up." she ordered.

"Ok Doctor Katara." the nurse replied as Katara walked out.

Katara walked out the door and sighed with relief. She had never expected being a doctor would be such stressful work. She had been top of her class all the way a grade A+ student, even graduating early and becoming one of the youngest doctors in history at the age of 24. And yet even with all her training she hadn't been ready for what she had witnessed her first emergency room surgery. Then again her brother wasn't the first person she thought she would be operating on either.

Sokka was always doing stupid stuff but she never really thought he would go and get so drunk that he thought swallowing a mouse would be a great idea. A live mouse at that. the mouse had tried to crawl back out of him and it ended up getting stuck in his throat. She had been so scared but after it was all said and done she found that she could handle just about anything.

Katara went to her locker and grabbed her clothes so she could change out of the scrubs she wore. She grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. knowing she would have to stop by the market on her way back home she called ahead to Sokka.

Sokka answered the phone "sup sis?" he asked flicking his Yo-Yo down and pulling it back up.

"Just wondering what you had planned for supper and if you needed me to pick anything up on my way home?" She asked knowing he really sucked at cooking.

"Actually I thought you could just pick up some pizza on the way home..." Sokka said nervously last time his sister had made him cook he had almost burnt the house down.

"Alright you got yourself a deal!" Katara said smirking and she hung up the phone and headed to the Pizza Shak.
