Remus and Sirius rushed to the back door that led into the kitchen. Sirius tried using several different spells to try and get the door open. It wouldn't budge. Sirius turned to the Werewolf beside him. Remus noticed the look Sirius was giving and he shook his head.

"No Sirius, come on try again with your wand." Sirius gave his boyfriend a stern look.

"Remus smash this door down now!" Remus shook his head again, he promised himself years ago he wouldn't let the wolf take over and use it's extra strength; he couldn't lose control. "Rem please, nothing will happen you can control it you've proven that come on this is Prongs and Lilly and Harry here. Please." Sirius pleaded the other man and gave him his best puppy- eyes look. Remus thought about what Sirius said an the other man was right. James had done so much for him he couldn't let him down now not if there was a chance. Remus nodded.

"Don't worry Rem, I'll be right here." Sirius leaned up and kissed Remus on the lips.

Remus backed up and braced himself. The wolf was always inside him fighting for control but he always supressed it and only on the Full moon did it have the strength to take over. Remus now started to relinquish that control, he thought about how his parents had been murdered by Death Eaters because of what was in their blood and now his best friends- the ones who had accepted him for what he was- could have been killed just because an insane bloke wanted to fulfil a silly prophecy. He let himself get mad and in turn the Wolf got mad too.

He rammed the door with his shoulder and it bust off it's hinges on the first try. As soon as the door was gone the nearest flames roared up and Sirius dragged Remus out the way before the doorway was engulfed in flames.
"Hey Rem, Remus? You okay?" Sirius asked with concern he gripped the other man's shoulders tightly. Remus nodded his head and drew his wand pointing it at the door, Sirius did the same.
They both used the same spell at the same time to try and extinguish the flames so they could actually get into the kitchen. Remus had no idea where the entrance to this basement was so Sirius took the lead. Their hands that did not possess their wands were clasped tightly together: Sirius's left and Remus's right.
Remus cast Lumos and the kitchen became a little more visible even though the smoke was so thick it was like fog in winter.

They stopped when they saw the three bodies across the floor. They were Death Eaters so it was obvious that James and Lily had put up some kind of fight. They bypassed the bodies and continued on. Remus looked at Sirius and he led them over to the dining room table, or what used to be the dining room table.
It was split in half with another body sprawled in the middle of it. Remus levitated it all away and sure enough there was a trap door. Sirius pulled it open to reveal a set of wooden steps descending into darkness...
