Sirius finished his daily shower and had come in to the living room to see Remus sitting on their sofa reading the Prophet. Sirius sat down next to him and switched on the muggle television, he was fascinated with the thing. Remus looked up from his paper and glanced briefly at what Sirius was watching, some comedy show. There they settled down for the evening until Professor Dumbledore walked out of their fireplace.
Remus and Sirius were startled. Sirius got up from his position on the sofa and turned the television off, he remained standing.
"I'm sorry to Interrupt your evening gentlemen but I come bearing grave news." Dumbledore said once he had settled in the chair besides the fire. The twinkle of knowing that was usually in his eyes was gone. Now replaced with sadness. Sirius heart leapt and Remus sat forward on the sofa. "Sirius," Dumbledore said,"you may wish to sit down next to Mr Lupin." Sirius didn't sit. Dumbledore sighed "I'm afraid Godrics Hollow was attacked one hour ago, the Dark Mark was floating above the house."
Sirius stood motionless, he looked as if he was going to collapse and Remus immediately got up, raced to his boyfriend's side pulled him into protective embrace. Sirius did nothing, he did not speak, did not hug his lover back, did even breath. Remus led him to the sofa Sirius did nothing to stop him just went where Remus put him. He sat down shakily but still did nothing. Meanwhile Dumbledore rose and once Remus had put Sirius down on the sofa he motioned for the young Werewolf to join him for a private discussion out in the kitchen.

"Professor what happened, nobody apart from myself, you, Sirius and.." A look of horror appeared on Remus's face. And he had to sit down on one of the dining room chairs to stop himself from collapsing on the floor, rather ungracefully he would imagine.
"Peter Pettigrew" Dumbledore finished for Remus and he patted the young man on the shoulder in comfort. "I'm afraid that Young Pettigrew was the spy in the Order but of course he was always stood in the shadows, out of the way so of course nobody suspected that he was giving information to the other side." Dumbledore continued, Remus just sat there trying to take it all in. He managed to find his voice.
"So James and Lily they're," Remus couldn't finish but the older Wizard knew what Remus wanted to ask.
"I'm afraid Remus that when Shackelbolt and his team got there the place was in flames and there was no way that anyone could have been alive in that." Remus sat still.
"So, they're dead. James and Lily and Harry- poor Harry, oh Merlin" Remus put his head in his hands, he couldn't believe it.

It was silent in the kitchen, Dumbledore let the young Werewolf have his moment here but then there was a pop from the living room. Remus's head snapped up, and he rushed to where the sound had come from. Dumbledore following.
The living room was empty, Sirius was gone.
Remus knew immediately where his boyfriend had gone and he turned back to Dumbledore. The other man silently nodded at Remus's silent question and the Werewolf dissaperated with a pop.
