FAITH'S POV:
"Oh my God, Tim!" I grab his hand and hold it tight. I can't stand the thought of losing him, and to think he's still in danger after all this is too much. I look at him, trembling, with tears in my eyes.
He squeezes my hand, looking worried and turns to the security guard. "What about our kids? They're at home with my mother!"
The guard shakes his head and says, "We don't know anything about that, sir. The police just told us to secure your room and that's all we know."
I pull my phone out of my purse. "I'll call your mom right now!" I dial the number and after a few rings Audrey answers.
"Hey, Mom, how's Dad?"
"He's ok, where's Grandma?"
"I answered because she's driving. We're on our was back to see Dad. We'll be there in a few minutes."
I pause, trying to think. It might not be safe for them to come here, but then again, if we can get them all inside right away...
"Audrey, listen. Tell Grandma to come straight to the emergency room entrance, okay?"
"Mom, why? What's going on?!"
"Just, please honey? Go to the ER entrance, I have to go."
I hang up and walk towards the door, where the guard tries to stop me. "Ma'am, please, you can't..."
"I just need to speak to the police!" I push past him and out the door.
DAINE'S POV:
I drive as fast as I can without arousing suspicion. I can't afford to get pulled over. I flip on the news station and listen to the latest reports.
"...and from what we've heard, he is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery. The main suspect is a man who is known to once have been McGraw's personal assistant..."
What? They're looking for me?! How could they possibly suspect I was even there? Dammit!! It might be too dangerous to show up at the hospital now. I slow the truck as I try to think of a plan. No. I have to get there. This has to end. I arrive at the hospital and see a few police cars next to a beige SUV and they're talking to the driver, but they don't even glance my way when I pull into the Emergency room parking lot. I try to think of what the best plan is when I see Faith walk out of the ER entrance.
FAITH'S POV:
I run down the hallway and take the elevator to the ground level. I look around for a police officer but I don't see any. If I can just meet up with Betty and the girls and tell them to get inside as fast as possible so they'll be safe. I rush to the ER entrance and I don't see them yet. I walk out and I'm scanning the parking lot when I see our SUV up by the road with some officers standing around. They must have stopped Betty coming in! Thank God they're safe. Relieved, I start walking across the parking lot toward the road to meet them when suddenly I'm grabbed from behind. I try to scream, but his hand is over my mouth and he pulls me backwards into the back seat of a truck cab.
