FAITH's POV:
Suddenly the door opens and Detective Morris comes in the room. "Has he woken up yet?"
I look at Tim, who is still asleep, then back to the detective. "Just for a moment, barely. He wasn't ready to answer any questions."
"Well, we have some information we would like for him to confirm."
"What did you find out?" I feel Tim's hand move in mine and I turn to him. He opens his eyes and looks up at the detective. "Tim, this is detective Morris. Are you okay to talk?"
He raises his head slightly, which is an improvement, and says. "Yeah. Hello detective. Have you found out anything about who did this?"
TIM's POV:
Detective Morris closes the door and walks over to the bed. "Sir, do you remember anything about yesterday?"
"No, I've been trying to, but... Actually, wait... I remember more than before. I remember leaving the house in the morning and driving to Upstage Studios. I know I must have gone in, because I vaguely remember asking Tina, the receptionist, about her vacation because that was her first day back."
"That coincides with what Detective Crandall found out. They said you checked in around 9AM and were there working with the engineers until around 1PM."
"Right! Yes, I remember I left early because the computer system crashed, and we weren't going to be able to do anything for a few hours until it was fixed."
"Do you remember anything about where you may have gone after that?"
"Ummm... Wait, yeah... I got a text message. From Gracie. Where's my phone? I'll show you." I look over at Faith, and I see her biting her lower lip the way she does when she's deep in thought. I turn back to the detective.
"We have it in evidence. It was covered in blood at the scene."
"Right, well... I remember Gracie texting me and asking what time I'd be home, and I told her I was going to be home soon because we had finished up for the day, and..."
Faith interrupts me and says, "hold on, that doesn't make sense, are you sure?"
"Yeah, I think I'm remembering correctly, why?"
"Because while the girls and I were waiting for you to be out of surgery, we were saying how none of us had heard from you all day."
"What? I know I... I mean, I think I... I'm pretty sure about this. Get my phone and I'll show you."
Detective Morris walks towards the door. "That's just what I'm going to do. I'll be back." He walks out and I look at Faith and shake my head. I'm more confused than before."
FAITH's POV:
This sure is confusing. "Tim, did Gracie text you anything else?"
"Nothing else is coming back just now. I remember it was her, and I remember sitting in my car for a while texting with her, but... Ugghh, it's so hard to remember anything clearly!!"
"Don't get upset, baby. Once we see your phone, I'm sure it will help you remember."
I wish I could figure out what's going on. I know Gracie said she hadn't heard from Tim, and yet he's saying she did. Either he's remembering incorrectly, or one of them is lying.
