Newt's POV

She was so peaceful when she slept. When she usually slept anyway.

This was not usual in any way.

The green veins were visible through her thin, white shirt, and blood was soaking her trousers.

This is all my fault.
She wouldn't be like this if it wasn't for me.
If I had just noticed the noise, not ignored it, then maybe she wouldn't be fighting the grim reaper right now. She would be out, in he sunshine of the Glade, meeting people, making friends, not fighting for her life.

All these thoughts were swimming in my head and made me bawl.

She didn't deserve this. I did.

I cupped my head in my hands and let the tears flow out.

The tears were burning my cheeks, each one more painful than the other.

It must've been hours. Because Minho had to come and take me out of the room to go to Frypan's.

Walking through the Glade was a pain, because usually, Louisa would be walking with me.

I could hear muttering through the food court.
All was relatively quiet, until I could hear a slinthead talking.

'I'm glad she got stung. Probably a spy. Doesn't need the like sof 'er here. Hope she dies up there.'

I bolted from my seat and walked over Gally.

I stared into his stone, heartless eyes.
'Do not. I repeat, DO NOT say that about her. She is a Glader, she is one of us and always will be.'

'Whatever dude. She doesn't belong here. And you know it. She'll go sooner or later. May as well make it sooner.'

With that, he sulked away.

What is his problem?
Everyone else seems to be getting on fine with her.

I dont trust him. Not anymore. She means too much. And he definitely has the strength to hurt her.

And I think that's what he is going to do.
