Chapter 9

RAVEN POV

When I was at the head captions office I knocked on the door. I was nervous of seeing him. 'Will he be mad, upset, or even angry that I'm back at the soul society? Will he assign me to a squad, or will he make me go back to the world of the living?' These are all questions spinning around in my head.

????-"ENTER!" I heard a loud, and powerful voice said.

I opened the door, and went in the room. I see a very large room it has a desk in the middle of the room, and three chairs. One is behind the desk, and the other too are in front of the desk. I also see a older looking man sitting at the desk. He has a long white beard, white hair, has lots of scars, and has a white captions jacket that has the number 1 on it. He also has a wooden staff. I walk to his desk, and took a seat.

Raven-"Hi head caption Yamamoto." I said as bravely as I could.
Yamamoto-"Raven why have you come back to the soul society?" He questioned.
Raven-"Well I came back because I was kidnaped by an arrancar. I escaped, but in doing so I suffered horrible injuries. And supposably caption Gin Ichimaru came and saved me after I blacked out." I explained.
Yamamoto-"Hmmm. I see it sounds like you still need to recover, and go easy for a while. Am I correct?"
Raven-"Yes, you are correct. I believe that it's best that while I'm staying here I should be assigned to a squad... And your not mad that I'm here?" I questioned shyly.
Yamamoto-"No I'm not mad. You couldn't help what happened to you. So  I'll assign you to a squad, you'll be assigned to squad 3. Now go, and meet your new squad. Come back here in one week." He says kindly.
Raven-"Yes sir.... and thank you." I said, then left.

'At least he isn't mad or upset that I'm here.' I think. I made my way to squad 3. I don't see anyone outside so I make my way to the captions office. When I get there I knock on the door. I waited a moment then heard someone.

????-"Come in." A voice said kindly.

I opened the door to see caption Gin Ichimaru siting at his desk doing paperwork, and I see another person in the room with him, sitting at his own desk. I presumed to be his lieutenant. He has blond medium length hair, and blue eyes. I closed the door behind me, and as I did so Gin looked up from his paperwork. Then he gave me a grin.

Gin-"Well look who we have here. Raven how did it go with the head caption?" He asked.
Raven-"It went better then I thought. He assigned me to a squad." I said with a smile.
Gin-"Oh, what squad?" He asked curiously.
Raven-"Your squad. He also said that you can determine what rank I would be in." I said happily.
Gin-"I think you can be the 3rd seat."

His lieutenant looked up from his paperwork, and gave Gin a shocked expression.

????-"Are you sure? We don't even know what kind of zanpakto she has, and what she is capable of. I think you should reconsider what place she should have." He said somewhat mean.
Gin-"Why, what position do you think she should have, Izuru?" He asked.
Izuru-"I think she should have an unseated position only until we know what she can do." He stated his opinion.

'He's right they don't know what I can do. I don't blame Izuru for saying this, but still he seems a bit on edge or even unsettled by my presence being here.'

Gin-"Alright. What do you think she should do in order to get the 3rd seat?" He questioned.
Izuru-"Hmmm?" He thought as he put his hand on his chin.
Raven-"How about I fight the 3rd seat to get the position?" I asked.

Izuru looked at me with surprise in his eyes, but Gin had a happy look.

Gin-"Then it's settled you will fight the 3rd seat in an hour. Izuru go tell him that he will be fighting Raven Saito." He ordered.
Izuru-"Yes." He said then left.

I stayed quiet for a while then said.

Raven-"Thank you for everything." I said, and bowed my head.
Gin-"What do you mean? I dint do anything special." He said as he came by me.
Raven-"I know I already said this earlier today, but I want to say it again. Thank you for saving me, and thank you for letting me be apart of your squad caption Ichimaru." I said that as I straitened up.
Gin-"It's not a problem. I'm happy that you are apart of my squad. Now rest until the fight you may rest on the couch." He said kindly.

I nodded, and laid on the couch.
