I was still contemplating whether or not I should tell Laine about that what had happened but I decided not to, for now. It was Saturday afternoon, we were in our little special place in a cosy little café and she was in a pretty okay mood for someone who just went through a breakup. We sat at some really unreasonably high stools just relaxing when Laine nudged me.
"Hey, that's something called a rib you know!" I gave her a sarcastic look, and she shrugged, her attention directed somewhere else.
"Yeah, well look at that mister mister over there." Her head jerked to the side, indicating I should follow. She pointed with her eyes.
I turned my body around looking at who it was that was so rib-nudging worthy and well, lets just say I would take a million and one nudges to just about anywhere if it draws my attention to him. The dude was perfect and I swear there was like an angel-like light shining behind him. He was stood around six feet tall with every muscle defined perfectly, tanned skin and the most defined jawline, which got me to thinking.
I mean, I know that Laine was having a hard time with the breakup even though she says she's fine, and to get her mind off Aiden she has to get her mind on someone else, someone like Mr. Jawline.
"Laine, oh my gosh he's an angel sent from Jesus himself." I joked, still admiring the man that managed to capture my full attention.
"I know right!" She started, "I can see the light behind him and everything!"
I smiled, playing along, "Exactly, and Jesus would be very disappointed if you didn't appreciate his gift." I said while giving her a sad yet convincing look.
She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Yeah right!"
"Laine don't be selfish, go and talk to him but do it not for you, but for Jesus, Jesus who died on the cross to sav-"
She interrupted me sending me a death glare while at it, "Fine, I'll go but but he doesn't seem like my type anyways."Liar.
She doesn't have a type. I watched as Laine slowly and hesitantly walk towards Mr. Jawline at the back of the room when I noticed a perky blonde heading in his general direction, I mean I couldn't tell if she going towards him or not but what I did know is that this chick wasn't gonna take any chances so I did the only thing I could think of at the moment. I got up from my stool holding my hot chocolate in my hand and pretending like I didn't notice her..
"Oh my God!" A blonde squealed followed by a gaping open mouth of disbelief .
"Oh no, I'm so so so sorry I didn't realize you were behind me." I lied.
She was too busy checking her clothes to even take note as to my apology. It being fake or not, "Move out of my way bitch. Oh my God, I can't even believe this shit!" She pushed past me, hard. I could still hear a couple of swearing words leave her mouth as she stammered towards the door.
"I'm really sorry again." I lied again, calling after her while she stormed out the door along with two other girls who gave me the ultimate death glares.
And my drama teacher doubted my skills, if only he could see me now.
I watched as she angrily argued with her two friends outside the café for a while making gestures to her now nipple printed, white, very expensive looking shirt. But I did what had to be done because when I looked across at Laine, her and Mr. Jawline looked like they were chatting up a storm and she seemed happy and not thinking about Aaiden. So if I have to accidentally on purpose dump a cup of hot tea on any bitch to see my best friend smiling , I'll do it.
Sorry not sorry.
