The wind was cutting against her face as she walked slowly home. Just like every other day she walked alone because all her normal friends had their normal parents pick them up from school in their nice warm cars. Though she did not Mind nor did she walk fast because of the weather because quite frankly she didn't want to be at home, sometimes she needed to be alone.

Pershia headed into her hall with the line walls that were slightly off colour. Ignoring the broken wooden stairs she headed into the lounge which also had off colour wall paper, the difference was this one was a brown with yellow flowers on, they used to be a nice cream. Ignoring what was playing on their overly large telly she put her bag on the coffee table and headed into the kitchen when she realised her mum wasn't on the white leather sofas.

"Hey Hon how was your day at school?" Amanda turned her head slightly towards her only child abandoning the washing up as she asked.

"It was good." Pershia wasn't used to seeing her mum this happy but she wasn't going to be the one to wreck it so instead she put the radio on full and cleaned and danced with her mum.

BANG!

Amanda checked the time. Holy shit.

"Pershia time to get up to bed now" Amanda was shaking, but Pershia didn't want to upset her mum and did as she was told.

"Baby I'm home, did you m-miss me?" Phillip slurred as he tumbled into the kitchen.

Amanda looked at Phillip strange he was sure of it normally he got a smile therefore she must be cheating on him. Agreeing with himself he decided his little Amanda should be taught a lesson.

She smiled at him. The same smile she gave to the post man the same smile she gave to the man behind the counter. Phillips paranoia and drunkess was going against him reminding him of the days when he worshipped Amanda an how she repaid him, but oh not no more Amanda was his and nobody else's.

"Now you listen here you ugly bitch I don't no who you think you are, but you should at least no who I am enough to realise I would find out you were cheating you dirt bag"

Phillip put his hand on the counter top to stop himself from falling. He leaned forward inches from Amanda's face.

"P-Phillip I love you an-d only you I promise I haven't done nothing wrong" she cried as she breathed in the smell of cigarettes and drink.

He grabbed her by the throat and pushed her to her knees. This would teach her a lesson he thought drunkenly in his head.

"This will clean you mouth out!" he shouted with an evil laugh.

Amanda tried to cry but he slapped her face. Once it was over he kicked her to the floor.

When morning finally came Pershia was up first, knowing her dad was still here she thought it was best to leave for school before he woke, to save her self and her mum from more commotion when really all she wanted to do was snuggle with her mum making her feel better like she normally would.

Seconds after the door was shut behind Pershia Phillip was awake an heading downstairs. He stood In the kitchen in just black boxers and a hand on his sore head. Phillip was deciding on what to make Amanda for breakfast as a thankyou for last night when he heard her coming down the stairs.

"Aw baby your up to early I was about to make your breakfast as a return for the fun we had last night"

Amanda smiled weakly and agreed to a bacon sandwich forgetting all about the horrors of last night because as far as he was concerned the man she loved cooking her breakfast in shorts was the best apology ever. Although a small part of her died in side just like every other time, but just as before she managed to hide her pain from the world .
