Hey guys! So this is my first story on here! I hope you enjoy it (:
*****************************
My name is Jamie Isabella Connor. You might have seen me on the news? It certainly got enough coverage. I'm just a normal girl though. I like to shop and hangout with my friends and play a little basketball or tennis. There shouldn't have been any reason for me to be on the news, but on Saturday, January 15, 2012, you can bet that the news coverage was only the beginning of a whole new chapter of my life, a brand new world that most girls only get to see from behind a television screen. Yeah, I should be so lucky.
Sixteen year old Jamie bounded down the steps as she hung up her phone and swung herself off the banister into her mother's kitchen.
"Hi, Momma!" She said wrapping Deena in a quick hug and then walking over to the oven and inhaling deeply. Her deep blue eyes lit up. "Cookies!"
Deena laughed.
"Yes, my little bloodhound. They should be done soon." Jamie smiled and leaned against the counter, flicking her long blonde ponytail off one shoulder.
"Awesome! So Stella is coming over soon to pick me up, and then I'm going to her place for the night. That okay?"
"Sure, honey." Deena leaned over the oven as the timer went off and grabbed the cookies. Jamie and Deena were mother and daughter, but they were so much closer than that. Because Jamie's dad had left before Jamie was born, she had never known him, but she did know who he was. Jeremy Connor, otherwise known as father of incredible teen pop sensation, Justin Connor. Jeremy and Deena had split up before Deena knew she was pregnant. Jeremy had met Kelly soon after, and they had Justin together. Deena eventually told Jeremy about Jamie, and he sent more than enough money to pay bills and child support, but Jamie never had an actual father. There was a loud knock at the door and Jamie quickly padded over to get it.
"Hey, Stells!"
"Hey Jam--, wait a second..." The short, dirty blonde, green-eyed girl stepped in to the house and sniffed loudly. "Do I smell...?" Jamie laughed.
"Geez, and my mom thinks I have a good nose?" She smiled "They're on the kitchen counter, dork." Stella quickly bounded into the kitchen as Jamie giggled and closed the door behind her friend. A second later she heard:
"Ahh! Oh my God! Hot!"
"Stella, dear, I just took them out of the oven!"
"Oh my goodness, OW! But they're still so good..." Jamie walked back to her mother and best friend and sat at the counter with them.
"So what time do you girls think you'll be home tomorrow?" Deena questioned. Jamie looked up at her mom, then at Stella. Stella looked up from her large plate of cookies and shrugged.
"Not really sure, Ms. C. I need to take Jamie dress shopping for her hot date." She winked slyly, and Jamie reddened.
"Oh, that's right, you're meeting Tyler's parents tonight, aren't you?" Deena smiled, looking at her daughter, nodding.
"Oh, my, Jamie Jewel." Deena laughed. "Well, just text me, yeah?" Jamie grabbed her bag and kissed her mom.
"Sure thing, mom, bye!"
"Bye, Ms. C!" Deena smiled.
"Bye! Love you both!"
"Love you too!" The girls chorused, and were off.
Later, at Stella's house.
"Stells, let's just give up. I've looked through every single magazine you own, and you've been searching online for hours. The perfect parent-meeting dress does not exist." Jamie sighed, laying on her friend's bed and putting her head in her hands.
