After the game of truth or dare, it was getting late and everyone was tired, so they decided to all get ready for bed and watch a movie before going to sleep. Jamie was the last person to go get changed, and when she went to the bathroom to start brushing her teeth, she stopped short. Looking in the mirror, it was her face, but her mother's necklace. The necklace that had become such a big part of her life, the necklace that she had practically been named after, the necklace her mother had worn everyday. Jamie had been doing a pretty good job of coping with her loss and keeping herself distracted, but seeing that necklace around her own neck just made her lose it. She crumpled to the floor with a thud and she started bawling like a baby. Outside on the couches, the other three teens all heard a loud thud come from the bathroom. Stella got up and tapped on the door lightly.
"Jamie Jewel? You alright?" There was no answer, but Stella could hear loud thuds. She jiggled the doorknob, but it was locked.
"Jamie?!" Stella called, starting to get worried. "Open the door!" Now Drew and Justin had crowded around the door, equally worried. They heard the lock turn and Stella barged into the bathroom to see a crying Jamie, curled up in a ball on the floor.
"Jamie! What happened?" Stella cried, wrapping her best friend in a monster hug.
"What happened?!" Jamie asked, incredulous. "My mom died, that's what happened!" She wailed, hugging her knees and rocking back and forth. Drew stepped in behind Stella and picked up Jamie and carried her bridal style into the living room, sitting on the couch with her in his lap. He rubbed her back as she sobbed, while Stella held her hand and Justin sat on the couch, not sure what to.
"Jamie. I know I wasn't the nicest person to you in the world when you first got here. Hell I was the biggest jerk ever but I want you to know that you're mom will never truly ever leave you forever. Plus you have so many people who love and care about you just as much if not more then your mom. Drew, Stella, dad, Jessica, and well me." Justin told her as a tear rolled down his face.
"Thank you so much, Justin. I love you too." Jamie told him with a smile making her cry once again.
"I didn't mean to make you cry, James." He said, looking at her tears.
"These are happy tears. These are thank-you-for-being-there-for-me tears." Justin smiled.
"Well then, I'm glad. We're all here for you. I'm here for you... sis." Justin told her. Jamie smiled and rolled her eyes a little at 'sis'.
"Thanks... bro." Drew and Stella smiled as Jamie wiped her eyes. "Thanks, everyone. I can't believe I have such amazing people here to help me through this. I'm so lucky." She smiled at them.
"I'm going to go finish brushing my teeth." Jamie got up.
"I have to go call my mom, she called me like five times today." He headed to the front of the bus for some privacy. Justin and Stella stood there awkwardly for a moment before Stella said,
"What you said, Justin. It was really sweet."
"Thanks Stells I just spoke from my heart." He told her with a shrug "Like I do when I write song but that was easier cause I didn't have to rhyme." Stella giggled at the comment.
"Well I can't wait to hear one of your new songs!" Stella told him. Justin smiled.
"Since you said something I did just write a new song. Do you wanna hear it?" Justin asked looking away.
"Of course!" Justin smiled excitedly and grabbed his guitar from his room, sitting back down and Stella sat on the couch next to him.
"Okay," he said. "It's kind of rough and not finished yet because I just started it the other day, and normally I don't let people hear my music until it's finished, but I really... want your opinion." With that, Justin strummed the opening bars of "Little Things", and started singing. Stella sat there, listening to his amazing voice and admiring his incredible lyrics. When Justin got to the third voice, he looked up and sang the entire thing while staring into her eyes.
"You're perfect to me I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth but if it's true, it's you, it's you, they add up to I'm in love with you and all these little things"
Justin looked up stopped strumming and looked down. "And that's as far as I've got." Stella stared at him in awe.
"That was so beautiful, Justin." Justin stared right back at her.
"Good, then it suits you perfectly. That was my goal." Stella looked shocked.
"That... That was for me?"
Justin's POV
She looked so perfect, I knew I just had to have her, I had to kiss her. This girl was blowing my mind in every way. I knew that this was my only moment, and I pushed all my nerves and inhibitions aside.
END POV
Justin nodded slowly, moving his guitar out of the way and leaning in closer to her. Stella couldn't move, she could hardly breathe as Justin slowly pushed a stray lock of hair from her face. She could feel his breathe on her mouth.
"You are so beautiful." He whispered, right before gently cupping her face and pressing his lips to hers. Stella started to kiss back as fireworks erupted in the back of her mind, but the light show was interrupted quickly as Drew came back to the main area of the bus.
"Okay, yeah, bye mom. Yeah, love you t-- Oh! Oh, my God." Drew said, hanging up his phone as the two teens practically flew back away from each other. Drew just smirked. "Well, don't let me stop you, I'm just getting to bed." He walked past the couch, slapping Justin on the back as he passed. Stella turned a deep shade of red, but Justin quickly countered with
"Yeah, go on and hurry to bed, don't want to keep Jamie waiting!" Drew just winked and headed back to where the beds were on the back of the bus. When Drew got back to his bed, he saw Jamie sitting on it, waiting for him. She looked so cute in her t-shirt and PJ shorts.
"Hey," she said, smiling up at him.
Jamie's POV
God, he looked good in his sweatpants. He wasn't wearing a shirt at all, not that I minded. I could tell he definitely worked out. I was excited, but also kind of nervous. But why should I be? I mean we had slept together last night, hadn't we? But this time, it felt... different.
END POV
Drew sat down next to her.
"We don't have to do this if it makes you uncomfortable, you know that, right?"
"No, I want to!" Jamie said, then reddened. "I mean... I mean... I'd have nightmares without you, and this is better than the couch. But if you don't want to..."
"No, I do! I mean, can't have you having nightmares, can we?" He smiled at her.
"No, we can't" She grinned back at him. Drew got into bed, and she got in after him, her back pressed against his chest. At first, Drew didn't know what to do, but after a moment he stiffly put his arm around her midsection. When he saw that she wasn't going to remove it, he held her more securely and curved his body towards hers.
"Goodnight, Drew." She whispered, yawning.
"Goodnight, Jamie Jewel."
