It was only because of a miraculous stroke of luck that Soal floated just inches above the ground, arms outstretched, before he hit it. Then he softly drifted to his feet. He had strange powers as a part-Interloper, indeed. This would be useful in battle. Brushing off his metallic gloves, he quickly put back on his cracked helmet and stared to his left like a deer in headlights.

The Dark Soldiers were still coming for him! His only instinct from before told him to run like mad. So he did, and as they were swiftly following him with their spears held out in front of them, Soal crashed into the wall of the Dam of Meinhaym. Now he was cornered! But he remembered the wire was so long, that he could reach it and climb up from the bottom, and that Articulus needed to be stopped. So he smiled and carried out a plan that he believed Retna would just love.
Why not break the Dam? he thought to himself.

Running over to the Dam, he found a jammed wooden lever, with a hard stone. Because it was jammed shut, the Dam was closed and Meinhaym was safe from flood. No longer! Drawing Sickle, he poked and jabbed at the stone. Nothing happened, so he wedged his sword in between to shove out the rock. It was sent flying at the spacious walls of the canyon. Then began a countdown of twenty seconds before the river would be released upon the Dark Soldiers!

Soal sprinted back to the string, but the Soldiers were nearly there! As they arrived under the wire, Soal leaped a great leap of faith, and grabbed onto the thread and swung around a few times before gaining good momentum. He quickly ascended the strand, but not fast enough for the walls of the Dam to begin opening. Quickening his pace, Soal climbed the coil, and his metallic glove clasped the lid of the Canyon as a gigantic tidal wave engulfed the land below him. The army cheered as he returned, and many were looking down at the new path the River of Meinhaym had created. As Soal stood on the rocky surface, he was never so glad to be back with the army.
