Tiffany's POV:

"Where am I?" I first think. It hurt to think.

"Ah, I see you have finally awoken." An unfamiliar voice said.

"What...?" I say then gasp in pain. It only last for a second

"Not so fast "He...or she says, "I think you should adjust to the new body, I mean you need to adjust in order to function right like a normal girl again, don't you? I mean surgery is a big step."

"Surgery...?" I stammer "what for...?" I grab my head, it didn't hurt as bad anymore.

"You're not permitted to know."

"Who are you then?"

"Agent Willis, I'll be assigning your new family to you."

"New family...?" I say stunned.

"Oh of course. But we need to get the facts straight."

"Okay." I say still dumbfounded.

"You're now 15, name is Tiffany, and your family's name is Johnson." He says this like he does it to his own family, that is IF he has one.

"Tiffany Johnson...? That doesn't sound right.." I say rolling the name in my head

"Ah, I see. This is your real name though, you don't have a new family, just a better one, nothing wrong with that." He says

"Why a better family? We're they not good enough before? Was I injured and need surgery to fix it?" I say questions pouring out of me.

"Indeed you were, you were sick and about to die, your old, or worse, family didn't care enough besides your mum. She said to fix you and your family, including herself."

"Oh okay.. That makes more sense." I say quietly. I begin to peer around as the agent walks out of the room.

The windows on the side of room are shielded by blinds, which makes it difficult to tell what level I was on.

I tried to think about the last thing that happened, who my family was. I was drawing a blank. I remember faces but no names- and the faces kind of drew a blank, kind of like slates with generalized facial features but not exactly completely there.

I looked closer around, the drawers, tables, plants. Something showing that people have been here- no signs. Besides generic plants that most rooms already had, no flowers or even a sign of human life besides the constant beeping reminder that I was alive.

I looked toward the door. He was walking back- coffee in hand, something written on his face. What's going on?
