lukas never quite understood tino and his obsession with photography, until, that is, he took the time to observe his friend's photos.

wolves, they were all pictures of wolves.

a sleek - pelted, misty - eyed she - wolf. an older, matted wolf with only one good eye, the other glazed over with a pale white hue.

lukas didn't recognize them at first, but he quickly discovered that scribbled behind them in messy handwriting were names. the she - wolf had the name 'natalya' where as 'yao' was the name of the one - eyed beast.

so many wolves, all of different pelts. lukas wondered how tino remembered them all.

"I don't." tino responded quietly one brisk summer afternoon. "that's why I write the names on the back. to never forget." though the flustered expression the finn makes whenever he flips through the photographs indicates to lukas he had already lost all previous memories long ago.

there was one certain wolf that only appeared alongside other beats in tino's photographs. a sleek - furred masculine beast with ominous icy - blue eyes. he was never named, and never had any solo pictures. whenever lukas pushed his companion for answers about the mystery wolf, he was always shrug and say he's forgotten by now.

it was a hot summer day. lukas felt cramped in the tiny home tino kept over the summer, while they were in their human form. he was flipping through the photos, understanding a little about the creatures from their facial features. natalya always had a serious look on her face, only loosening up when alongside the larger beast called ivan. tino had told lukas about the close bond the two siblings shared. yao never smiled, or scowled. his face was always blank. perhaps he just lacked emotions? lukas didn't know. yao hadn't returned to his human form in a while.

then, there was him. him. just thinking about him twisted lukas's gut, making him wish to vomit. a sleek, silvery - white furred wolf, still in his youth, with a piercing violet gaze. lukas gently shifted over the photo, knowing what name would be printed on the other side.

emil.

within seconds after turning over the card, lukas stuffed it under the pile, name side down. his breathing wavered.

the heat was really getting to him, he needed to step out.

lukas paced through the kitchen, breathing a heavy 'bye' to tino, who was bent over the stove, before slipping out the front door.

finally. with fresh air pumping through his lungs, it felt lukas could truly breathe again.

|| denmark ; mathias køhler ||

he had seen him, he was sure of it. it was a casual july day for mathias, as it seemed, however it quickly changed when he saw it. within the crowds filling the center of town, a pair of violet - blue eyes.

they were far too vivid. they had to be them.

only once in his life has mathias seen a pair of eyes of such a shade of color. and even after all these years the memory still remained.

mathias didn't want to seem creepy, but he simply couldn't stop his actions. he quickly darted through the square, keeping his wolf - person in sight. following his journey through the crowds, popping into stores only to gaze intently at the displays before hurrying out of the main bustling of town and towards the woods surrounding the area.

there he began to sprint. mathias followed like a shadow, as he often came into the woods he knew what and what not to step on, and managed to slip after his culprit without a sound. several times wolf - person would pause, but never look behind him. it only took a few moments before mathias understood why, there was something in these woods that made him afraid.

after several minutes of stalking after the other male, they came to a house. that seemed odd, why would there be a house in the middle of the woods? only after a few moments of investigating, mathias realized this house wasn't in the middle of the woods and was only positioned on the outskirts of town. a large paved road led from the house to the town, and that caused mathias to ponder why would wolf - person cut through the woods if he could've gotten to his house much quicker by going down the road?

that's when wolf - person stopped. completely. he stopped moving, blinking, even breathing. now he reminded mathias so much of his wolf that it was beyond eerie. it was downright terrifying.

wolf - person spun around, glancing at his surroundings, completely oblivious to mathias hiding in the undergrowth before darting inside.
