"Then what happens?" Sam asks.

"They transform completely and fast. One bite is all it takes. Eyes, teeth, skin, no going back either. They feed once, they're a monster forever and our man Jack is headed there on a bullet train."

"How'd you find this guy if he's walking talking human?" Dean asks.

"Let's just say it runs in his family."

"You mean..?" I ask.

"Killed his daddy back in '78. Son of a bitch mangled 8 bodies before I put him down. The guy used to be a dentist, Cadillac, trophy wife, little did I know a pregnant trophy wife, she put the boy up for adoption, by the time I find out he was long gone lost in the system."

"You mean to tell me you couldn't find someone?" Sam asks.

"I'm not sure I wanted to, the idea of hunting down some poor kid, I don't think I'd have the heart. No, I wanted to wait. Make damn sure I had the right man, apparently I do." Sam decides that he's going to go to the library for something so I'm stuck here with Dean and Travis. Because its late and it was a long drive, we decide to go to bed and finish up tomorrow.

"So how do we kill it?" I ask.

"Torch it, burn it." We start setting stuff up.

"So fire huh?" Dean says.

"The only way I found to kill these bastards, deep fry'em."

"Well, that's gonna be horrible," Right now Travis and Dean are torching something that will be helpful and I'm doing more research on this thing, "Is that what you did to Jack's dad?"

"Yup."

"Not wasting anytime are you?" Sam asks.

"None to waste, if he hulks out we won't be finding bodies just remains."

"What if he doesn't hulk out, I did a little homework. I've been checking out the lore on roogaroos."

"What? My 30 years of experience not good enough for you?" Travis asks.

"What? No I, I just wanted to be prepared. I mean not thy you didn't-"

"Sam loves research." Dean interrupts.

"He does. He keeps it under his mattress." I agree.

"It's a sickness, it is."

"Look, everything you said checked out, of course, but I found a couple of interesting stories," I put down the book I was reading so that I could concentrate on what Sam is saying, "about people who have this roogaroo gene or whatever. See, they start to turn but they never take the final step."

"Really?" Dean asks.

"If they never eat human flesh then they never fully transform."

"So what? Go vegan stay human?" I ask.

"Basically, or in this case eat a lot of raw meat just not-"

"Lawmping." Dean says interrupting.

"Right."

"Good on you for the do diligence Sam, but those are fairy tales." Travis says as he walks over to fill his coffee cup again, "Fact is every roogaroo I saw or heard of took that bite."

"Okay, well that doesn't mean that Jack will." Sam starts an argument.

"So what do we do? Sit and hope and wait for a body count?"

"No, we talk to him. Explain what's happening that way he can fight it."

"Fight it? Ha, are you kidding me. Have you ever been really hungry? I mean, haven't eaten in days hungry?" Travis asks.
