Ofelia's POV
The men from the moving truck had brought in the last box. I sighed. I have been unpacking boxes and moving around furniture all morning. I had just moved from New York City, all the way to Sacramento, California. It was so beautiful. There was so much more space than New York. There were less people pushing you and shoving you around. It was a big change moving here. But you know what they say, life changes all the time.
I paid the men, thanked them, and then they left. I turned around and faced huge mess.
Why do I own so much stuff? I asked myself. I sighed once again and blew back my side bangs that laid just below my cheek bone. I scratched my left cheek where the stray hair had tickled it and pulled my ponytail tighter. This is going to take ages! I thought as I looked around at the boxes piled on top of each other.
"Charlotte! Where are you?" I called out. I looked around the boxes and found her eating like the fatty she is. I picked up her cage and rested it on the countertop. I took her out of her cage and pet her soft white fur. "Will you help me clean, Charlotte?" I asked. I know, you probably think I'm weird because I talk to my pet guinea pig but be honest, who hasn't talked to their pet before?
Two hours have passed and everything was put away. I puffed a sigh of relief and walked into my new room. The walls were painted light blue and had small sparkles in the paint. Light orange swirls were painted onto the wall. My bed sheets were a light orange color with blue cloth bordering it. My bed was placed in the middle of my room but it was pushed up against the wall. My closet was to left if you were sitting on my bed. I smiled at the vibrant colors and walked over to my closet. I decided to go to the grocery store because my fridge is currently vacant. Since it was so beautiful out I changed into a flowy, strapless baby blue dress that fell just above my knees. A big brown belt hugged my waist as I slipped on a pair of brown flats. I put on a brownish pink lip gloss and applied mascara. I brushed my long brown hair that was just above my elbows. I pushed my side bangs out of my eye and smiled. I grabbed my keys and my purse and walked out the front door. Before I got into my car I remembered something. I don't know where anything is. 'Now what do I do? I could ask a neighbor for directions?' I asked myself. It seemed the easiest. I walked up to the house next door. Before I knocked I could hear shouting. "Charlie! Get back here!" I was shocked. Could this be a father yelling at his son? Many horrible memories scattered through my mind. **Flashback** I was sitting in the living room of the apartment and playing angry birds on my phone. The front door slammed open and my drunk father stumbled in. "Ofelia!" He shouted, clearly angry. I hesitantly stood up and walked towards him. "Yes father?" I asked looking up at him, praying I wouldn't get hurt. He threw the bottle he had in his hand against the wall. The pieces flew across the room. I look back up at my father but before I could see his face I was knocked to the ground. My eye throbbed as I scooted back against the wall. He walked up to me and looked down, nostrils flaring. He kicked me in the stomach and I fell to my side. I clutched my stomach, searching for air. He spit on me and walked into his room. I sat and cried in agony, just hoping that this torture would end. **End** I was brought back to reality when the door opened. In front of me stood a man with sapphire blue eyes and a bowl haircut. Which surprisingly looked good on him. He was extremely cute. I don't know what, but it was something about him that made him cute. I was about to say something but he took my hand and pulled me inside. He quickly closed the door. He looked around the floor and then up at me. I was greatly confused. "You must be our new neighbor! I'm Ian!" He said and stuck out his hand. I stood against the wall dumbfounded. And, to be honest, a bit scared. Don't judge me! You'd be scared too if some guy just pulled you into his house. "Oh, sorry about pulling you in here. My pet guinea pig, Charlie, got loose and I didn't want him running out the door." He said. I laughed slightly. "I have a pet guinea pig, too. Her name is Charlotte. Which is actually really close to Charlie." I said and laughed. I eased myself off of the wall. "Really? Cool!" He said. "Do you need help looking for him." He desperately nodded his head. I walked around the living room and heard slight squeaking noises. I look behind the couch and find a big puffball. "Found him!" I said and picked him up. I looked at him and found a cheese ball in his mouth. I grinned. "Isn't he just the cutest thing!" I exclaimed petting him. "OIH!! Get your mangy hands off me!" Ian shouted in a British accent. I looked at him and laughed. "You're really funny." I said. He smiled and stared into my eyes. I stared into his amazing blue eyes. I've never seen anyone with eyes that blue before. They were burning into my own eyes. My boring, brown eyes. I could feel myself start to slightly blush. "Hey Ian, did you find him?" A voice called from the hallway. I looked up and met a pair of beautiful brown eyes. They resembled the same boring color my eyes had. But his eyes weren't boring at all. They had something that made then stand out, I just wasn't sure what. He stood there and stared back at me. I pushed the stray hair out of my face and felt the blush get worse. "Oh, hello." He said. "Hi." I nervously said. God, why was I so nervous? Though, I guess I didn't really get anymore nervous then before. I was this nervous when I was talking to Ian. "Oh, here you go." I said and quickly handed Charlie back to Ian. "Thanks. What did you come over for, anyway?" Ian asked. "Oh, I uh.. need directions to get to the uh... grocery store." I said flustered. He laughed. I could feel the other boy just staring at me. "Just keep going straight down the road and take the second left. That'll take you right to the store." Ian said and grinned. God, he was so cute! I could feel myself grinning as well. "Thanks. Bye Charlie!" I said petting him and then quickly left. 'Good job Ofelia! You just made a fool of yourself! Oaf!' I thought. I got in my car and left.
{Anthony's POV}
I couldn't help but stare into her amazing brown eyes. "Who was that?" I asked Ian once she left. "That's our new neighbor-." He stopped talking. "I didn't catch her name. Anyway, she came over for directions and she helped me find Charlie. She has a pet guinea pig, too. Her name is Charlotte." Ian said excitedly as he placed Charlie back in his cage. "So you got the guinea pig's name but not her's?" I asked. "I didn't come up! Plus, I'm sure it's not the only time we'll see her." Ian said and walked into the living room "Why? Do you love her?" He teasingly asked. "Dude, seriously? I just met her." I said. But I did have to admit, she was stunning.
