Chapter 5

Speak Up

{Ofelia's POV}

I got home and plopped down on my couch. I let out a hefty sigh. Those boys are too funny. They're incredibly nice. I just wish that I could talk to Anthony. He didn't talk to me at all. The only times he did talk to me was when he was talking to both me and Ian. I really like him. He's just so... What's the word I'm looking for? Hot!

'No, bad Ofelia!' I said and slapped myself in the face. That was a bad idea. I held my cheeks until and felt the burning sensation.

"Why did I just do that?" I asked myself out loud. I stood up and walked to my room.

"Charlotte, will you help me?" I said talking to my pet who wasn't even listening. She just sat there eating. I sighed. I closed my door and put my phone on its dock. I opened up Pandora and listened to Ed Sheeran Radio. The first song that came on was 'The City'.

I sang every single word. I danced around my room and sang. I hit every note. I turned around and stopped singing. Everything around me stopped moving. I froze when I met those chocolate brown eyes.

{Anthony's POV}

"I'm gonna go edit this!" Ian shouted as he walked into the editing room.

"Hey Ian?" I asked. He walked back out.

"Ya?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Girl problems?" He asked and chuckled. I nodded my head.

"I like Ofelia, a lot. But I can't seem to speak in front of her." Ian tensed up.

"You just need to remember that she's a normal person. She'll react the same way any other girl would. You'll be fine. I think she likes you, too." Ian sighed and left to edit. I sighed also and walked into my room.

'A normal person. Ofelia's not normal! She's beyond perfect!' I plopped down on my bed and closed my eyes.

"And if the city never sleeps then that makes two!" I heard someone sing. They sounded amazing. I sat up and stared out my window. It was Ofelia.

I listened to her hit every note. I watched her hips move to the music as she danced. I smiled. She was perfect. Her hair fell mud length down her back. Her curves were beyond amazing. She turned around and noticed me watching her. She stopped and looked at me.

"I... Uh... Erm... I was..." She was lost for words. Her cheeks turned into a bright shade of red. I smiled. She slightly laughed.

"Why are you blushing?" She asked me through the window.

"I... Uh..." I said. We looked at each other and both laughed.

"Anthony, do you ever speak?" She asked, a little more serious. I looked down into my lap.

"Anthony?" She asked again. I looked up at her, my face felt like it was on fire.

"I trusted you with a secret that I haven't told anyone and you can't even talk to me? I told you about my the loss of my brother. I haven't told that story in forever! You can't even tell me your last name!" She shouted out her window. Why was she getting so mad at me?

"I like you." She whispered and looked down. My head bolted up. She looked at me, hope in her eyes. I went to say something but shut my mouth.

'Say something!' I told myself but I couldn't seem to follow the command.

"I'm such an idiot! What made me think that you'd like me? You don't even talk to me!" She shouted. I was about to say something but she cut me off.

"Just forget it! If you don't have the nerve to talk to me after I've spilled my deepest secrets to you, then I don't want to hear it!" She slammed her window shut and closed her curtains.

'You dumbass! You're losing her! Why can't you talk?" I mentally shouted at my self. I ran out into the living room and look out the window. I could see Ofelia making her way to the park. I watched as she plopped down near a tree and started to cry.

'Go get her!' I said in my mind.

"I will." I said out loud.

I opened the door and ran outside. I ran to the park but slowed down once I got closer to her. She heard me get closer and she looked up at me.

"Go away." She said in between sobs. I didn't listen and sat down on the grass next to her. I looked up at the leaves on the tree.

'This is it. Speak up.' I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Ofelia, I like you, a lot. I do care about you. I'm grateful to have met you and that you trust me with you horrible past. I've tried to work up the courage to speak to you but every time I look at you I'm lost for words. I feel my cheeks catch fire and I get this feeling in my stomach. I've only felt this feeling before with one other girl. I didn't want to mess up my chances with you but it looks like I did anyway." There was a silence set between us.

"You didn't mess up your chance." Ofelia said breaking the silence. I looked down at her confused. She took my hand and looked at me.

"Ofelia..." I was about to say something but she cut me off. Her lips crashing into mine. She pushed me down onto the grass and she sat on top of me. Her hair fell down around my face, blocking out our environment. Sparks flew everywhere. I felt that feeling in my stomach again, the one I've only felt with someone else before. We released from the kiss and she looked down at me. I smiled.

"You were saying?" She asked.

"I love you."
