As the morning rays pierced through dark curtains of room and fell directly on her face, breaking her deep slumber. She turned her face to other side to get some extra five minutes nap. But suddenly her head bumped
into something hard and she could feel herself caged between something strong. She slowly moved her face
to experience one the most blissful moment. There he was sleeping like a baby and she was his teady bear who he had cocooned in his embrace. She chuckled at her own thought but a moment later she blushes
crisom red seeing their proximity.
She slowly freed herself from his hold and got up.
As she came out of the shower she saw him sitting on the bed his legs folded and head between his palms.
"Are you OK?" She asked her voice full of concern.
"Hmm." He replied, his head still in between his palms.
"Where were you last night? " She sat beside him and placed her one hand on his shoulder.
"Are you OK?" He asked ignoring her question.
"Randhir don't ignore my question..answer me first."
His mind chuckled seeing her behaving like a typical wife who is all concerned about her husband and his
whereabouts. He so wanted all this remain unchanged.
"Look at your condition...you are looking like a mess." She pouted
He didn't replied but took her palm between his and kissed her knuckles.
"Randhir did you went to the bar?" She don't know what made her ask this. But now the question was
already thrown and she was waiting for his reply.
Now all she could pray that her question get a negative response. All she want him was to answer a 'no'.
But against her will he nodded in positive. He could have lied..he could have denied..even he asked his
mom to remain mum about this..but he was the only one who spilled the beans. Why he felt so wrong
hiding something from her? Why he did not feel like lying. Why he felt good after is confessed though he
knew the consequences won't favour him. And unlike her he was proven right. She freed her hands from his
and got up from the bed.
"Sanyukta I'm sorry." He stood behind her.
"Mr. Shekhawat...you go and freshen up, I'll bring your coffee." She said in her stern voice.
"You don't need to work...you just rest." He held her wrist.
"Im fine.." she struggle to free her hand.
"Sanyukta just listen to me once...i won't repeat it...trust me." He hugged her tightly. He could feel her
struggling to get free from the hug but he determine to make her understand.
She wanted to trust him...she wanted to give this relation one chance...but somewhere deep inside her heart she was afraid for the reasons unknown. She know Randhir is good..he loves her a lot but what made her not love him back. For once she wanted to
listen to heart. For once she wanted to go against her mind.
Randhir could feel her anger melting down. He could feel her calm. He loosen his grip but still he hugged
her tight enough to not let her go. She also hugged him back.
"Randhir what made you do this..what made you upset?" She asked still hugging him.
"I'm sorry." He again repeated.
"Don't you trust me..??" She finger combed his hair.
"You trust me na..?" She asked again.
He nodded.
"So tell me what is in the reports?" She asked making him sit on the bed.
"Nothing...much Sanyukta..reports are normal." He lied.
"Randhir please tell me...I'm strong enough to handle it." She settled on his lap. This was their comfort level now.
"But..but Sanyukta..I'm not strong enough to loose you." He hugged her crying.
"Randhir tell me what had happen to me...please tell me." She too hugged him.
"Sanyukta I can't live without you...please don't leave me ever" He pecked her hair.
"Randhir please tell na"
"First promise me....that you will never ever leave me. I can't live without you." Sanyukta's breath got hitched hearing all this.
"Promise." She some how managed to speak.
"Pakka promise?"
"Pakka promise." She chuckled a bit seeing her husband child like behaviour.
"You..you are suffering from brain tumor." He spoke looking into her eyes.
"Randhir you go and take your shower....till then I'll
make your breakfast." She finger combed his hair and got up from his lap.
Randhir was shocked. He didn't expected this. He was all ready to console her crying girl. But it never came.
In fact it seems she had never heard what he said. Or is she ignoring it? He thought.
"Sanyukta.." he hold her wrist as she got up from his lap.
"Hmm." She hummed
"You don't want to say something?" He asked her as he pulled her closer. She rested her one hand on his chest
to keep her balance.
"About what?" She asked as he entwined his finger with her and kissed her knuckles. Sanyukta shivered at this act of his.
He left her wrist and she started walking out.
"Sanyukta.." he again called her. She stopped where she was but did not looked back.
"I'm there with you." He said and it did not took him seconds to realize that Sanyukta had engulfed her in a
bone crushing hug.
He too wrapped his arms around her tightly but warmly.
He could feel his shirt getting wet by her sobs which made him hugged her more tightly.
"Shh..Sanyukta..ekdum chup..kuch nahi hoga tumhe..mai hu na." He rubbed her back to calm her down.
"I'm not crying because I am suffering from the tumor." He could feel her pout against his chest. How much he wanted to kiss her pout...but then he don't want to make thing difficult for her. He controlled his desire as he asked her reason for crying.
"Then why are you crying." He
cupped her face.
"I..i..don't know..i just felt like crying." She spoke honestly.
Randhir chuckled at her wife innocence.
"And that hug....wo..bhi bas man kiya ki..."
"I like it when you hug me Randhir.." she again stated honestly only to be hugged by Randhir with all his might.
Sanyukta wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her face on his chest..
"Randhir go and take shower..you are stinking.." she said breaking the hug
"I'm not stinking." This time he pouted
"Yes you are..all that alcoholic alcoholic types." He sniffed her nose.
"OK..I'm going don't make face..but just let me hug you one more." He said as he hugged her again.
"Randhir go..or else you will be late..and i need to cook your breakfast too." She said.
"Sanyukta please take rest..don't work na..mom hai Kaustuki hai..." he said.
"But Randhir Kaustuki have her college..and mom how much she will work all alone."
"I will arrange some maids Sanyukta but please you don't need to work."
"OK..but I will make breakfast, lunch and dinner for you everyday and dare you skip your meals at home."
"Sanyuktaaa.." Sanyukta interrupted in between
"Let me cook for you Randhir..I don't know whether I will get this chance in future or not. We don't know what this tumor has in store for me. Who knows till how long I will live." She said and Randhir suddenly broke
the hug and went inside the loo without even glancing at her.
"Randhir.." she called but only to hear the door locked in return. Please leave your valuable comments :)
