Chapter 4: "I Promise"

Evie's Point Of Veiw.

I arrived home, alone. I had no clue what was going on, so I used my powers, usually I wouldn't but whatever was happening it got to Elijah something bad..

I decided to ask first, as my plan would be obvious.

I raced inside.

"What's going on?" I say to Jake as he was walking outside obviously going meet with the pack. "I can't say.." Jacob replies, concern and worry both fill my expression. "Please Jake.. Elijah's out there, I dont know what it was but it bothered him.." I pleaded. Jacob Sighs "We think it might of been the Volturi.. We aren't sure yet.." Jake says. I sighed heavily "Ok thanks Jake." I reply as he runs out of the house.

Worry, anxiousness and frustration set in as the hours tick by.

Elijah hadn't had a good experience with the Volturi. And had heald a grudge agaisnt them ever since he was a kid. I would be the same if I had my mother slaughtered right in front of my eyes like the way he did.

*4 and 1/2 hours later*

"Evie" A husky voice said shaking me gently "Hmmm what" I grumbled half asleep. "Babe its me. Elijah." I opened one eye. "Oh hey babe" I said flashing my crooked smile. "Lets get you to bed, hay baby" I sighed "Ok but I want you to tell me what happened earlier why you reacted the way you did.." I replied sleepily as he carried me up stairs.

"I will tomorrow ok baby" he says laying me on my bed and putting the covers over me.
"Promise?"

"I Promise" Elijah says quietly

As I lay my head on my pillow I fell into a deep slumber.
