Chapter nineteen;

This book has only about 4-6 chapters or less left so yeah im sad ok

I woke up to white. It was just light everywhere and i even had to squint to see.

Once the light had subsided, i was finally able to see, but it was literally just light everywhere and it was just an endless plain. I looked down at myself and see i was wearing a white dress and cardigan.

I looked straight ahead again and walked forward, or at least i think i was walking forward. Everything around me seriously looked the same.

I was surprised when i saw a person.

"Excuse me," i said and walked towards him "i'm lost, can you please help me?"

The person ignored me and walked straight ahead.

"Wait! Please!"

I ran after the person but soon he disappeared.

"Angel." i turned my head and was surprised to see... Wait patrick?

"Patrick?" i asked bewildered "wait what are you- where am i?"

"You're in the life locker." patrick said "hurry, take my hand before we disappear." he reached out for me and i hastily took it in mine.

"Wait- life locker does that mean i'm dead?" i said as patrick and i disappear and enter a new dimension.

"Well yes, but its not yet your time. Not even close." he looks back and winks at me.

"Then why am i here?" i ask.

"All will be explained shortly. We just need to see somebody." he said. We land in a new dimension and this one had streets and buildings. "Welcome to the life locker. Its the last heaven and dimension in this world."

"Wow." i said gaping at everything "wait, last heaven?"

"Well yeah," he said "you see humans think that when you die that's it but in fact your soul even as an angel is still very fragile and this is the last stage. People live here forever till they are reincarnated and bought back into the world. Its a cycle."

I look around and see lost souls as if they were living on earth, socializing and talking and laughing.

"The thing is, in this dimension there are no commitments." patrick said looking around "no relationships , no hurt no sadness, just happiness and nothing more."

i look at patrick and see the slightly pained look in his eyes. i then wondered what the hell patrick must have gone through, and why he always has this glazed and haunted look in his eyes as if even in this world he'll be damaged by what he's running away from.

"Wait, if you're dead, and in this dimension, then how are you on the graveyard when i was visiting my mum?" i asked him.

his eyes snapped to me and he smiled "well, i did say i guard the dead, didn't i?" he sighs and starts walking, i aimlessly follow, "i guide lost souls to their last purgatory and to their way back to earth for reincarnation. ooh this way." he takes a turn and i of course follow.

i look down at my pendant to see it changing color, it was turning black instead of red and i wondered what the hell must be happening to luke for something like this to happen.

we enter a building and we see people aimlessly walking around with smiles on their faces and complete contentment. there was no fear, they didn't fear leaving this place and being reincarnated, nor what they will be reincarnated into. i wish life was like that, where we aren't too afraid of our future and just went with the flow.

patrick opens the door and i see a woman with her back to me, facing what seems to be a plane glass. my steps slowed as i watched the way her hair swayed on her back and the way her fingers delicately touched the screen.

"ma'am, hate to interrupt." patrick said "but the package is here."

"thank you, for your services patrick. you may go." she said in a soft voice.

patrick does a respectful bow and leaves the room. i nervously stood there.

"Wh-who are you?" i asked "Why am i here?"

she chuckles "oh angel, just like your brother, questions must be answered first or else." she said as she does a couple of swipes on her little screen.

"how- how do you know who my brother is? who are you?" i said.

she turned on her heel and she smiled at me. oh god. she was beautiful. i've only ever seen her in a couple of pictures littered in my father's office, but holy fuck was she pretty.

"mom" i breathed out and didn't hesitate to run in her arms.

"oh, my beautiful girl" she sighed and held me close to her "you've grown up so much."

"mom, oh mom." i whispered as tears stung my eyes.

"now, now, lets save the waterworks for when we have a family reunion." she said with a chuckle as she lovingly held my face between her soft hands and wiped my tears. her eyes were so identical to mine, green, and beautiful.

"mom you- you-" i look at the screen behind her and see dad and zayn. dad was shouting at zayn. they were bickering.

"wait- what's going on?" i asked facing the screen immediately.

"they think you're dead." my mom said standing beside me "they're fighting. zayn wants to just go ahead and get to lucifer, but of course your father being your father think its too brash."

"am- am i really dead?" i ask.

"of course not honey. your body is on relapse, too exhausted so your soul came up here, to me." she said softly "but i'll be sending you back, not to worry, but not without a few instructions."

"Patrick? What's your story?" i asked as he guided me back on my way to my body.

"Hmm?" he said and looked at me. He shrugs "your father was- and still is- a good man."

"I was a pup, like i said- and the little girl i was gifted to? She was abused by her father and sometimes he would also beat me.

"i stayed by her despite the fact that i was being beaten. Until she died, her little body couldn't handle any more of her father's beatings, so he took it out on me.

"Everyday i prayed, even as a pup, to just be taken to where she was. And your father answered my prayers. He took me from that world and appointed me guardian of lost souls in the last purgatory- and here we are."

I sigh and hug patrick. "I'm sorry." i whispered.

"Don't be," he retracts holding my hands "till we see each other again?"

I could feel myself wilting away so i squeeze patrick's hand one last time and nodded, with a smile.

"Till we see each other again."

Yes that happened lol

So yeah expect a shit ton of suspense in the next chapters i guess lels.
