It had been a week since the 'incident". Aaron had said nothing, which was just the way I liked it. I managed to convinced my dad to keep the cat. I named him Sebastian.

It looks sunny, but its very cold outside. From inside school, where I am now, the sun shines through the windows in a cheery way. I like to think that it is bidding us farewell until spring. Class was pretty boring. It was math, and brain numbingly easy. Soon the bell rang for lunch and we were released. I'm not sure why, but I didn't feel like eating outside. So I wandered around until I found an empty and unused classroom. I ate my lunch there and started to doze off.

Suddenly I was awake.  Oh god, what time is it?  I yawned, stretched and got up. I brushed off my skirt and turned on my cell phone. It was 4:30 and I had received some angry texts from my dad. I had better call him. He picked up right away and hissed into the phone. I explained what happened and apologized. The call was over and it was time I left. First I had to find a bathroom though, I'm sure my makeup was all over my face by now. I found a bathroom and found out that I was right. After washing my face and reapplying some eyeliner and mascara, I was good to go. I snuck out of the school and walked to the bus stop. There should be a bus arriving at five, and it was 4:55 now.

The bus pulled up and opened its doors, inviting me and my money in. I gave the driver my bus pass and found a seat once he handed it back. It was very crowded since everyone was coming home from work. I found a seat beside a girl who looked about my age.

She had short light brown hair and brown eyes. She was small and delicate and reminded me of a bird. Her eyes flickered towards me when I sat down, and she spoke. "Hello, my name is Emily, what's your name?" I did not want to talk to this girl, but I didn't want to be rude, so in a bored tone I introduced myself. She grinned and spoke again, this time with a light and playful voice. "Where are you going on this bus? I'm going just past Sophie Bay, to the Rose Village. Oh and your pretty name suits your pretty face". I blinked and thanked her. Her complement shocked me.

The Rose Village isn't an actual village, its just a collection of streets and houses with roses planted everywhere. A long time ago a rich man bought a huge property and planted roses everywhere on it. When he died the city took the land and paved some roads and made some lots, but kept the roses. And now that couple of rose covered blocks are often referred to as the Rose Village.

I sighed heavily. "I'm going to Sophie Bay". Maybe if I kept my answers short she would get bored and stop talking. Just because she said I was pretty, doesn't mean I like her. Her eyes widened and she smiled even wider. "We live so close together!". " Too bad I don't go to St Jonathans .." she said, gesturing to my uniform. Suddenly she opened her bag and grabbed something out of it. I turned away from her and closed my eyes.

The bus jolted to a stop, and I stood up quickly, eager to escape this talkative little bird. It wasn't over yet though, as I started to walk away she grabbed me and placed a piece if paper in my hand. "Text me" she whispered and released me.

I Jogged home and raced into my room, looking for Sebastian. He was asleep on my bed.  I picked him up and held him to my chest. "I'm glad you don't talk" I cooed to him, and he started to purr. I walked downstairs and notified my dad that I was home. I ate a snack and went back up to my room. I had no homework since I skipped out on an afternoon of school. I opened my laptop and checked Tumblr.

I delicately slammed my laptop closed and threw my self down on my bed. Argh I am so bored with my hair, I want to cut it. I almost want to dye it.  Its times like this I wished I had a friend of some sort to help me make a decision. i looked at the piece of paper with Emily's number on it. Beatrice ! smarten up ! You don't need anyone, you can do this yourself.

I slithered off my bed and walked into my bathroom. I looked at my reflection, making different faces and lifting my shirt to study my body. I wonder if, If I applied, would a modeling agency hire me?

I shook my head and walked out to my porch. I crawled onto the roof and lay there, letting the sun tickle my skin and kiss my hair with his golden fingers.
