I yawned as I woke up, then suddenly sat up. Today was the day I got my puppy. I made a new habit of leaving my chair next to my bed. I got in it and went to the dining room.

"Morning." I said, cheerfully, for once. My parents both smiled at me as they made breakfast, "Hey sport." My dad grinned. My mom put a plate on the table, "Eat up." I wheeled to the table and basically inhaled my food, "When can we go get the puppy?" They both laughed, "After you get ready..." My mom said with a grin. I looked down at myself and realized I was still in what I slept in.

My mom came  with me to my room, "You know, when you get your prosthetic, you'll be able to-" I sighed, "Can we not talk about that right now?" She nodded and helped me get my outfit together.

After I finished getting ready, we left. Today we had nothing planned, well, except to get the puppy of course.

I put my earbuds in and laid my head back against the seat, closing my eyes. Next thing I know, my phone buzzed. I looked at it and tilted my head, it was from a number I didn't recognize. I unlocked my phone and read it:
'Hi Elsa, this is Anna, your therapist. I won't be able to keep our appointment next week, would it be okay if I changed it to this Friday? If not, that's okay.'
I thought for a moment before replying:
'Sure. I'll tell my parents.'

She didn't text back, but she's probably busy.

'Wait... How'd she get my numb- Oh, wait...'

I forgot my mom put my number on the paperwork in case she needed to cancel... Like she just did.

After a while, we arrived at a pet store. My dad got my chair and helped me in, then I wheeled in. The sounds of puppies barking, birds chirping, and cats meowing made the inside quite loud. We went to where the puppies were.

A guy came up, "Is there anything I can help you with?" My parents started talking to him and I looked at the puppies. There were four: a Dalmatian, a Beagle, a Husky, and a German Shepherd. One caught my attention, the Husky, and I smiled as it wagged its little tail.
"That's our Husky, he's almost two months old and energetic. He was also the runt when he was born." I nodded, "C-Can I see him?" I looked at the worker who nodded and got him out and handed him to me. I giggled as the pup's tongue basically attacked my face.

"Him." I managed as he continued to lick my face. My dad nodded and went with the guy to purchase the pup while my mother stayed and laughed as I was basically helpless from this little guy. My dad came back momentarily to ask for a name and I smiled at the pure white puppy, "Olaf." He nodded and went back to the worker.

We got home about an hour later. I put Olaf down and watched as he explored the house. My dad got two bowls and filled them up with water and puppy food. I giggled as the small puppy ran to the bowls and started devouring his food.

After he finished eating he came up to my chair carefully and sniffed it, tilting his head. I smiled and went to my room. I heard little paws running through the hall and into my room.

I giggled as he tried to jump onto my bed, "Here." I leaned over and picked him up and set him on my bed.

He wagged his tail and licked my face again, causing me to laugh for a while. By the time he finished, my face was probably blood red.

The evening passed and I was in my bed when he came back to my bed, and I once again helped him up. He cuddled to me and I smiled, "Tired?" He yawned, silently answering my question.

I laid down and turned my light out. I fell asleep quickly with my new little furball close by.
