I left Piper in her room so she could prepare for the ball. I decided to go see my father before I got ready because I know he can be irrational when he's impatient and no one wants to talk to an irrational person. I went inside the throne room to meet him, and judging by his face, I was either safe or I was about to lose my head.

"Son," my father said. "Come forward." And I did.

"Why do you call for my company with you, father?" I asked, trying to mask my nervousness.

"Well you see son, I found an exceptional bride for you from Puerto Rico, her name is Reyna," the king said as one of his guards handed me a picture of her.

She had long obsidian black hair that matched her eyes that had a steel, guarded look. Her skin seemed to be very pale. She was pretty in a "I will take everything serious and will judge you" way, but not my type. Besides, I had Piper.

"Father..." I started. "She's very umm regal, let's say, but I kinda have another bride in mind."

My father seemed to look interested all of the sudden. "Really?' he asked. "Who are you suggesting?"

"You'll find out at the ball," I answered.

My father looked very pleased with me. "Hopefully and somehow you've captured the heart of a princess in a very wealthy country." he suggested.

I chuckled nervously, "You'll find out soon, see you at the ball father."

And with that I stumbled out of the throne room, thinking about all of the worse case scenarios that could happen. I walked towards my room and bumped into one of my friends from my dads army named Percy. He was absolutely one of the bets swordsmen I have ever met, but also one of the most mischievous, besides my friend Leo.

"Hey" he greeted me.

"Hi Percy, can you walk with me for a sec?" I asked.
