Casper's POV
A couple hours earlier...
I was sitting on my bed and working on a essay for social studies, when my mom came in the room. "Sweetheart! We are having a neighborhood party and I want you to come with us! It'll be so much fun! I'll meet you downstairs In 15 minutes!" My mom exclaimed. I groaned. Ugh! These things are always so stupi- Wait. Raylin might be there! I'm going!
I sat up from my bed, and ran to my closet. I slipped on a clean grey shirt and some clean black jeans. I then put on my black converse and tied them. I went into my bathroom, brushed my ratty hair out and washed my face. I then walked out and grabbed my phone. I opened my door and walked downstairs. "Ready?" My mom asked. I nodded. "Let's go!" My dad and mom said together. I nodded once more, and followed them out of the house. They both hurried to the crowd of people, but I just stood at my door, observing the area. I looked around and then saw Raylin. She looked straight into my eyes and then I saw panic form in her eyes. I saw her shake her head and ran away into the woods. Oh crap. I started running and ran into the woods. I saw her hair flying in the wind, I was close to her. Come on Casper. You can run faster than this! I thought. I picked up the pace and caught up to her. "RAYLIN!" I screamed. She ignored me. "RAYLIN!" I screamed once more. She ignored me again. I then grabbed her arm and pulled her to me. "Raylin." I whispered. She didn't look at me, and she tried to get out of my grasp. "RAYLIN!" I yelled at her. She shook her head. "Look. At. Me." I said. She shook her head. "Get off of me! Let me go!" She yelled, struggling. "Raylin." I whispered calmly. I put my hand under her chin and lifted her face to were I could see her. "Raylin. Please. Talk to me." I whispered. "Why are you running away from me?" I asked. "Casper! You don't get it! Leave me alone! You can't help me! You can't do anything for me. The only thing you can do is leave me alone! I'm gonna break you Casper!" She screamed holding back tears. Then she couldn't hold it in anymore. Tears slowly rolled down her face. She whipped her arm away from me and wiped her tears off her face. She just stood there. Silently crying. I stood there watching her. I then did exactly what I should have done right when I met her. I grabbed her hands and pulled her too me. I pulled her to my chest and wrapped my arms around her waist. "You need someone Raylin, and I'm going to be that someone." I whispered to her. She cried even harder. "Casper... Please don't..." She whispered. "Raylin. Please." I whispered. "It's going to be okay." I said to her. "Stop saying that! That's not true!" She screamed. She pulled away from me and wiped tears off her face. "We never had this talk. I never saw you here." She snapped at me. She angrily stormed off, leaving me speechless. I just wanted to help her! Then reality snapped into me. I ran after her and started to yell her name. "Raylin! Wait!" I called after her. I heard her groan and she ran faster. "Leave me alone!" I heard her screamed. I caught up to her and took her hand in mine. "Raylin. Listen to me. It will never be okay if you don't try. You need to let someone in. You need to let someone help you. I'm going to help you. I'm going to fix you." I whispered. "Please. Let me help you." I spoke quietly. "Casper... You can't help me." She said. "Yes I can! Stop saying you can't be helped! You can and you will be helped! I'm going to help you if you like it or not! Raylin listen to me. You are fixable. I'm going to fix you. I'm going to help you. You are going to be okay." I exclaimed. I saw tears form in her eyes. She slowly walked to me and buried her head in my chest. I sighed and wrapped my arms around her waist. "It's gonna be okay. I'm gonna help you." I whispered to her. "Okay." She whispered.
We stood there for a while, just hugging. I'm glad she's letting me help her. I'm happy that she will let me help her. I'm never gonna give up on her.
She's worth every second I spend with her and I'm gonna make sure she's happy if it's the last thing I do.
She's going to be okay.
