Ross Lynch POV
Today I was going to take my siblings on a drive just to take our minds off of our parents. Not to long ago they both passed away from an unknown disease and it really stunned the family with how sudden it happened. Though I was the second youngest and was expected to still be grieving while my siblings took care of me it was quite the opposite. Everyone was so depressed and not saying I wasn't but I just wanted to make my family happy at least for a day. I had just gotten my drivers license so what better thing to do than go to some of our favorite places.
I stood by the stairs and yelled up to them. "Guys can you come down for a minute?!?"
I heard multiple footsteps and soon everyone was on the couch while I stood in front of them.
"So whats's up Ross?" Riker asked.
I sighed before speaking. "Look guys I know we've all been really sad about mom and dad but for one day can we just go out like old times?"
It was silent and everyone was looking at each other. I thought for a second it was pointless until Riker spoke up. "Mom and dad wouldn't want us locked up in the house depressed they would want us to go out and live. So everyone get up and get ready, we're going out." He said.
With that said everyone moved back up the stairs then after a few minutes we were loaded into the family car with all our things for the beach. After the beach we would go to a restaurant and then out to Get Shaved. I thought today was going to be a new start for my family and I. Who knew I could be so wrong?
Riker Lynch POV
Even though Ross only got his license recently I allowed him to drive since this was his idea. It was very generous and mature of him to think of this idea to get our minds off of mom and dad. I know it'll never be the same but I have to step up and so does Rydel as the two oldest in the house. Things would be different now for sure but I won't let my family down.
When we arrived at the beach not too many people were out there. We got our stuff out the van setting it up in the perfect spot and soon stripped down to our beach clothes. Us boys raced to the water while Rydel stayed behind to soak in the sun on the towel. A while later she got tired of the sun and joined us in the water. It was just like old times when we'd take family beach trips only now there were no loving eyes watching us from the side.
Rydel Lynch POV
After we played at the beach we began to get hungry and the snacks we brought weren't holding us over anymore so we decided to head to Olive Garden. By coincidence the Olive Garden was right next to Get Shaved where we planned to go for dessert. Once we changed our wet clothes it was a short drive to the restaurant from the beach. Inside we were seated and soon a waiter came to take our orders.
I immediately knew what I wanted. "Stuffed mushroom." Ross and Riker got different types of lasagna. Rocky of course go Macaroni and Ryland got a pizza. While our orders were being made we talked and laughed. I noticed that ache in my heart started to lessen but it never went away completly.
After a good meal we were going to Get Shaved for dessert then we would head home. At the stall I placed the order while the boys waited in the car. "Five large Monkey Brains please."
As the order was being made I could see the sun going down creating a beautiful sunset. I was so mesmerized by it I didn't hear the lady asking for the money to pay for the shaved ice. When she tapped me I jumped but quickly apologized for holding her up. I gave her the money and took the ice back to the car with a flustered look on my face. Eventually I got over it as we sat eating our dessert while watching the sunset.
3rd Person POV
After a successful healing day the Lynch family was heading home. Riker took over driving to let Ross rest in the passenger seat. Everyone had finished their dessert and soon drifted off to sleep save for the two in the front of the van.
"Thanks for today Ross we really needed it." Riker said shifting his eyes over to his brother for a second.
In the passenger seat Ross was drifting towards dream land so he didn't quite hear what Riker said. But what he did hear was the loud beeping along with some sliding before everything went black.
