Machines beep steadily around me, echoing inside my head. I flicker my eye lids open to see the crisp white hospital room. The machine to the lift shows my heart beat and blood pressure, to the the right is an empty plastic chair. I feel dizzy but can't feel my left leg, i see its bandaged and it burns.
There's a drip in the back of my left hand and it connects to the bag hanging above my head, i watch as it drips and i really want to itch it.
Someone moves outside, i see Zeke looking at me, a cut on his eyebrow but he's safe. He blows me a kiss from the window and i smile back. A doctor taps him on the shoulder and they talk. Then he pushes the door open and walks in.
"Hey." I mumble, my voice slightly slurred.
"Hey babe." He whispers, sitting on the seat next to me and holding my hand in both of his.
"Im sorry i dropped you." I apologise.
"Don't, you don't have anything to apologise for. Im so glad you're okay." He says, kissing my forehead
"What happened to Jacob?"
"He's dead." Zeke whispers.
"Have you been crying?" I ask, looking at his bloodshot puffy eyes.
"Yep, i thought id lost you. You actually died."
"What?"
"You died. Your dad bought you back doing CPR."
"Wow."
"I love you." He whispers.
"I love you more." I tease, smiling.
"Not possible." He points out.
