Maya thought she had gotten away with it, she thought nobody would know but boy was she wrong.

Now, she is a target. After four months of getting away with it, it has come back to haunt her......

Everywhere she would go, she'd see shadows and hear whispers; she wasn't safe anywhere. Her mum hated her for what she had done, now she was homeless and vulnerable with nowhere to run.

And the worst part of it all... She has to attend school. Where the threats started off... Which led to being followed... Which led to where she is now. She'd never thought it'd get this far...

She shouldn't have done it, if she could go back and change it all.... She would, but she can't. She has to live with what she has done, this was her life now.

She had stollen some clothes to change in for school, Maya always went the back way to school. That way it was less crowded and easier to spot out who was following her. Maya had gotten to school without any troubles but that wasn't the end of it, she still had to survive school where she still gets threats.

She walked into John Quincy Adams Middle School, looking behind her. Maya was too busy looking behind her that she crashed into someone in front of her. When she looked up, she saw Mrs. Henry, the principal, with coffee all over her shirt.

Maya mentally rolled her eyes, great. She knew that she was going to get in massive trouble but she didn't really care, Maya had bigger problems.

"Miss Hart, you shouldn't be looking behind you because things like these-" she gestured to her outfit, "-happen."

This time, Maya actually rolled her eyes, "Who cares? People have bigger problems then worrying about spilling coffee on someone and running their precious outfit."

Mrs. Henry looked shocked, "Miss Hart, you do not talk to the principal like that."

Maya threw her hands up in the air in frustration, "Who fucking cares? I don't."

Mrs. Henry was getting angry, she didn't like the way Maya was talking to her, "ENOUGH! Miss Hart, you have detention." She got out a slip and started to write up the detention.

Maya always got detention, it was nothing new to her. "You're seriously giving me detention because I spilt your coffee?"

"No, I'm giving you detention for being disobedient and SWEARING!"

Mrs. Henry didn't like swearing, she hated it. Any kid she heard swearing, got detentions, she thought kids would have learned by now but obviously not.

Maya scoffed, "Just give me the fucking detention." She put out her hand and snatched the slip from Mrs. Henry's hand.

Before she could walk off, however, the one and only Lucas Friar walked into the halls of JQA middle school. "Sup, motherfuckers."

Lucas Friar was the school's bad boy and he was proud of it. He was also Maya's number one suspect behind all these threats and stalking her. After all, he thrives on humiliating people and making their life a living hell; what better suspect?

Mrs. Henry turned her attention to Lucas, "Mr Friar-"

"Yeah, yeah just give me the detention. After all, I can't ruin my reputation."
Everyone laughed at his remark and he smirked. He loved being the centre of attention, he didn't know what he'd do without the attention.

He noticed Maya also had a red slip in her hand and he smirked, "Detention together, again? This is becoming a regular thing."

Great. Maya thought before she rolled her eyes and walked off, she didn't have time for his bullshit and she didn't want to have to spend any more time then she had to with him.

Maya heard footsteps behind her, oh god, please do not let it be Lucas she thought to herself. Maya stopped and turned around to see Lucas standing behind her.

"Sup, Harty."

She rolled her eyes, "What do you want?" She spat.

"Awe, don't be like that. Just because you can't have me, doesn't mean we can't be friends." He smirked, he knew Maya didn't like him but it was fun playing with her; with anyone in fact.

She scoffed, "I don't like you, Friar."

"Sure you don't." He chuckled.

"I do not like you, nor will I ever. You're the school's bad boy and I'm on to you." She turned around and walked away, this time he didn't follow her.

He was shocked at her words, he didn't know what she meant by, "and I'm on to you" What the hell was that supposed to mean? Maybe it was nothing, it was probably just Maya being.... Maya, she probably didn't even know what she was talking about.

Well, what do you think? Trust me, you'll learn more as the story processes.

Pretty good, huh? 800+ words for the first chapter? That's pretty good for me.

And no, this book isn't going to be cliché where Lucas and Maya spent detention together and they fall in love with each other.

There's still soooo much more drama and mystery before lucaya happens and when it does.... It'll be magical.

Anyway I'm rambling on, I just have amazing ideas for this book that I can't wait to share with y'all!

Vote, comment, add to your library; whatever!
