A/N: The picture at the top is of Aiko's jutsu that she put on herself to make her forget Gaara- you will read about it in this chapter.

Gaara's P.O.V.
I watched with a confused look as Neji Hyuga left the room.

I quenched the slight jealousy I felt when he was talking to Aiko.

Nothing was going on with them yet, I still felt the sharp sting of possessiveness.

I turned to Aiko and watched her eat. It almost physically hurt to see her and not be able to touch her like how I wanted to.

I was tempted to tell her that we were romantically involved, but I ws worried she might not believe me. Or she wouldn't have the same feelings.

I barely noticed as the leaf ninjas trickled out of the room until we were the only ones left.

When she raised the chop sticks to her mouth, my eyes tracked the movement.

I saw a red kanji sign for love, like the one on my forehead, on her palm, surrounded by... purple lettering?

I grabbed her hand only to have her a blinding flash of pain shoot up my arm. Aiko gasped and cried out.

I immediately let go and backed up.

"What was that?" She asked shakily.

I dreaded the answer. I wasn't sure but I had a pretty good guess at what that was.

"Aiko, let me see your hand. I won't touch you but I need to check something out."

She hesitantly turned her hand and let me see the red and blue lettering on her palm.

The kanji sign was soroundedd by seal markings.

It is a jutsu that makes you forget your memories of somone.

The person who places it on themselves picks a significant sign, in this case my kanji sign, and then the writes the seal around it.

And if they come into physical contact with the person they want to forget, both of them will endure great agony.

And you can only put the jutsu on yourself.

But why would Aiko want to forget me? My heart skrewed up in pain and my breathing became labored.

Because you're a monster Shakaku whispered.

No there has to be an explanation, I refuse to believe she would of given up on us. She must have been forced.

I pushed Shakaku's bloodlust down.

I turned to her and explained what the markings meant.

"But... why would I have wanted to forget you?" She asked sadly.

"I don't know but I think you were either forced or you didn't want to give away information that could prove detrimental to the village." I said as I sat back down.

"Oh so even if they were to read my mind they wouldn't get any information?" She asked.

"Yes," I nodded. "And with this jutsu, there's supposed to be a trigger. Something that triggers your memory."

"Like an action?"

I nodded. What would she have chosen though?

"If you're done eating I could show you to you're room." Before she lost her memory we were sharing a room. But now she would be sleeping in a guest room, I sighed aggravated.

"Okay," she said standing up.

I didn't touch her before because she didn't know me but now I can't touch her because it would hurt us. If it was just me, I'd take the pain happily. But I couldn't hurt her.
