Aiko's P.O.V.
"So..." I trailed off. "This is a building. And this is a... building and behold! Another building." I told Neji.
His mouth skewered up. "Really?" He asked mockingly, "I had no idea."
Drat I expected more of a reaction out of him.
"Yeah," I said playing along. "It's okay I wouldn't have expected a baka like yourself to understand what a building is." I smirked.
He glared, "I am Neji Hyuga
the genius prodigy. I know what a building is!""Are you sure?" My smirk widened.
He turned away from me, probably to compose himself.
By now we were a few blocks away from the eating hall.
I looked around, "nothing's really changed since the last I remembered it."
"Oh there's still that little shop over there that has the best dumplings! Come on." I said grabbing his sleeve.
The dumplings here are to die for! I used to come here everyday for lunch.
I pulled Neji into the shop and inhaled the aromas. I moaned in ecstasy.
"Aiko!" Someone squealed my name.
I turned to see a young girl come barreling at me. She engulfed me in a hug.
"Uh..." I trailed off. Did I know her?
"You haven't been in here in so long!" She squealed again.
Realization dawned, I must have known her before I lost my memory.
I just smiled and nodded. "I've been buisy with a mission." I said not wanting to delve into how I lost my memory.
She nodded and led me to a short booth in the back.
I scrunched my nose up. It was my regular seat but... it was so short I'd have to sit by Neji. I shuddered.
We sat down in silence. I nervously fidgeted with my fingers. I looked up to see Neji looking at me with his smoldering eyes.
Wait! I didn't have any money! How was I supposed to pay for the food?
"Uh we should go." I said trying to sound casual. I didn't want to tell him I didn't have any money. That's so embarrassing!
"Why?" He asked. "You were so excited."
"I just realized I had something to do." I lied.
The waitress who hugged me earlier came back. "Are you ready to order?" She asked.
"Umm no..." I started.
"Yes," Neji cut me off and pulled me back down.
"But..." I protested.
I was cut off again. "just get us two orders of her usual." He said calmly.
After she left I glared at him. "I don't have any money to pay for it." I admitted grudgingly.
"I'll pay for it," he said matter of factly.
I hesitated before nodding. "I'll pay you back." I wondered where I was going to get the money. I know I should have some. I'll just ask Gaara if I had some when I get back.
"There's no need," he said.
"But I insist."
"As do I."
I huffed angrily, "are you saying that since I'm a girl I can't pay for myself? Are you that pompous and steriotypical?"
He turned to me, "and are you implying that I don't have any money since I come from the leaf village. Are you insulting Konoha?"
