When I finally got back to the cave with the fruit and the water I saw Ian had calmed down a bit and was just breathing with slight irritation.

"Here, I also got some fruit to eat" I smiled and passed him the fruit then took a seat next to him.

"Thanks." He said with a scratchy voice. Probably from all that coughing he did not long ago.

"No problem" I said and took a bite of my fruit. "Wow..... this is the best fruit I have tasted............ EVER!" I took another bite savoring every taste it had to offer.

Ian chuckled and took a sip of his water. He seems to have calmed down, that's good. Maybe it would be a good idea that we stay here until tomorrow so we don't risk him having two attacks the same day. I just hope he doesn't have another at all...

"Do you want to stay here tonight to rest?" Ian looked up a bit confused "I mean, I think it would be better if you don't have another attack." He nodded and looked back down. "I'll go get some firewood and get a fire started so we don't freeze." Ian nodded. I wonder why he's being so quiet...

I climbed down to the ground and started my search for kindling and firewood. Leaves crunched under me as the sky darkened. I found a good amount of wood and kindling and started to walk back to the cave where I left Ian grabbing a few fruits along the way. It's really nice here, maybe if we can find a way to get rid of the monster we can live here or something. Hmmmmm, I don't see a problem with that. Just me and Ian on this beautiful island making videos for our fans.

As I started to get back to the cave I felt a really sharp pain in my arm where I had been cut. Fuck!

"Ah!" I fell to the ground dropping the wood and clutching my throbbing arm to my chest.

I heard a low growl to my left and the beast came out of the thick foliage it's hot breath leaving steam in the cool evening. Between the pain and fear I am feeling I don't know how I'm going to die first, fear, pain, or 'It'. (I know this is an interruption of an intense moment but, uh.... I JUST MADE MYSELF A GREAT SMOOTHIE!!)

It took a step closer and closer. The worst part of this is that I don't have Ian here to keep me comfort. Now I'm just alone and scared. I motioned to scream but nothing came out. I tried to blink but I couldn't take my eyes off of it or else it might kill me. My arm was still in intense agony and I could do nothing about it.

It made a motion forward and moved at an amazingly fast speed, it was now in my face not even 10 inches away. I moved my hand back and started to slowly move it around for something, ANYTHING that could get me out of this mess I have found myself in. It stared motionless and breathless, it's eyes studying me and it started to grin. AHA! I grabbed hold of a sharp rock the size of my hand and used all of my force to smash it in the side of it's head.

The moment of impact was brief and not as effective as I hoped it would be. The thing made the same low growl it had before when it first appeared and grabbed the rock. It's claws skillfully avoided any contact with it's skin and the rock was removed in an instance. The wound oozed blood but it wasn't red. It's black, not just any black, it's darker than the night itself. It stood upright again and smiled down at me. Was it testing me? I blinked.

Nothing.

It's gone.

I got up and picked up the wood that was dropped. Surprisingly, the pain in my arm went away when the thing had. I began to walk back.

I reached the vines and looked up to see Ian sitting on the ledge twiddling with something black in his hands. I shouldn't worry him with what had just happened but he doesn't seem to take notice of me.

"Ian? What are you doing out here?" I called up still a little shaky and he jumped a little.

"Oh, hi Ant!" He smiled, stuffed the thing in his pocket, and stood up.

"You mind catching this wood." I said as I tossed up a piece of wood and Ian quickly caught it.

"HEY! I wasn't ready you ass!" Ian chuckled and I did too.

This continued on as I continued to toss and he continued to catch.

When I got to the top I helped Ian bring the wood into the cave and he positioned himself at the back wall as I set up the fire. I pulled some dry grass from the side of the cave and lit it over the wood. Moments later it caught and walah, we have a fire. I sighed and took a seat next to Ian.

"What was that thing you were messing with when I came back?" I questioned and he began to dig into his pockets.

"This." He pulled out some thing and than passed it to me. "I kinda... Tripped over it while walking behind you." He looked away embarrised.

It's a small fragment of what I would assume to be a pendant of some sort. It is black with little jewels encrusted into it. The whole piece would look absolutely beautiful. I flipped it around in my hand examining it a little more, it looks like it was cut with a really sharp knife or something. It's edge is smooth.

Ian reached over and took it from my hand. "I think it's important but I don't know exactally how yet." He yawned and lied down in my lap.

I blushed and he looked up at me with the light of the fire dancing across his face and reflecting from his eyes. The sun had completely gone down and I smiled with a clear and bright blush on my face. Without thinking I leaned down and kissed his cheek, I couldn't resist. The time was right and he was so damn cute I couldn't help it. Ian looked up and me with a smile and tuned on his side to fall asleep. I leaned back and smiled drifting off as well into a blissful silence.
