My one chance to fit in was taken away from me when I missed sign ups. If I ever had the time and the willpower, I would punch Melony square in the face. I'm usually not one to resort to violence but I'd make an exception. She has gone from best friend to total biotch in a matter of days. And for silly reasons too! I can't remember why I was ever friends with them in the first place. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I acted like they do when I hung out with them? I mean I bet I had to just a little bit if I was to fit in under their standards, but I couldn't really imagine being that mean!
I was sitting in my room thinking about all these things when I heard my mom yell from downstairs. "NOELLE SOMEONE'S HERE TO SEE YOU!!!!"
Oooh I wonder who that could be! Probably that damn paparazzi again. They follow me around like vultures to a dead body. Haha just kidding I can only dream I had fans. I slowly got up from my lying position on the bed and wandered downstairs, vaguely curious on who could be at the door, but still mad at what a horrible day today was.
"NOW!!!" She yelled again. God, mother I'm walking as fast as I want to! Take some chill pills. I'm sure whoever it is could wait just a tad more if they really respected my time. Down the hallway was the front door, and there stood Cassidy with a soccer ball at her feet. Why?! I'm already depressed enough, why did she have to carry around a damn ball to remind me!
"Hey girl! I was thinking that even though we didn't make the team, because of that low leveled fu**-" I quickly put my hand over her mouth to silence her, due to the fact that my mom was standing at the door with us, "we could still kick the ball around and enjoy ourselves instead of moping around thinking about what could have been." She looked at me apologetically for the swearing and then looked at me in a way that made me feel like I had to answer something. Crud.
"Uh..sure ok why don't you come in first though. Make yourself at home!" I said, still wondering how she figured out where I live. I haven't had any friends over since I came back, so she either had to have asked Melony (HIGHLY UNLIKELY) or she asked my mom..
"i bet you're wondering how I knew where you live," Cassidy said. Okay there were three options now! Either she asked melony, asked my mom, or read my mind!!! Woah thats a scary thought. "I ran into your mom after school today before you got out and asked her because i know you would be bummed about the whole soccer, Melony thing! So What's up?" She asked.
I looked over at my mom and she smiled back with a caring look. You gotta love moms.
Ugh. Oh nuffin much, you know, just wallowing in self pity! I wanted to say, but she was still a new friend so i didnt want to have the first impressions be along the lines of depressed... Because I'm not. "Oh just relaxing! Long day, right?" I said instead. Heheh that rhymed.
"Yea you're telling me!!!" She kicked her shoes off at the shoe mat and walked over to the comfiest chair in the house and popped a squat. Yup I just said that. "I almost punched that girl square in the face!!!!" She said a little too loudly.
"What girl? Noelle are there people being mean to you at school??" My mom questioned me with one of her plucked eyebrows raised in curiosity and concern. Drat! I neglected to tell my mom because she knew how much of a friend Melony and I were, so for her to hear that her little girl is no longer friends with what used to be her bff, would probably break her vulnerable heart.
"Nooo mom, no one is bullying me, Cassidy just has a temper, riiiiight cassidy???" I begged her to agree and drop the subject with my eyes. She caught on quickly--Thank god-- and nodded her head. Now that i think about it, I'm sure we'll be great friends.
"Alright but you'll tell me if you were getting bullied, right?" My mother asked me. Hhhoosnap! Time to lie again.
"Yea mom I will." I said dismissively. Kind of dropping a hint that she should leave me alone so she doesn't embarrass me in front of friends. She went into the kitchen and I could hear her opening a pop from out of the fridge. Ok that should keep her busy. (She loves pop)
