"So, what was it like being hostage?" Rick asks. Ghost hits him across the head. I laugh lightly. All eyes slowly turn to me as I take a breath in.
"It's not so bad. You get interrogated a few times a day, they try to use force against you, but all in all it doesn't matter what you do and just letting your mind wander the whole time instead of paying any attention to what's going on, helps. Then you barely feel much pain. Your just, numb. They never really chose to attack both of your strengths. You either have a weak body and a strong mind, or a strong body and a weak mind, either way they loose. The only downside to it, was that I was treated differently than the rest of my group. Seeing as I was the only girl for about ruffly 100 miles, I had other punishments added on. Well, not punishments for them, but more a reward, and me as a trophy." I say looking down. "War fare is not for the faint of heart though. Luckily I'm not of the faint of heart anymore." I say smirking. "Doesn't matter much of what happened back there anymore though. What's done was done and has been dealt with. Though, the only thought that runs through your mind is to keep your mouth shut and to hope you don't die the next day." I look up to find all eyes on me and mixed emotions on everyone's face. "What? It's not like it's too bad." I say confused. Though then I think of what someone who had never even see the base before would think.
"Not too bad? Not too bad? What are you thinking? And even the fact that your a girl is another reason you shouldn't have gone in the first place!" Gerard yells standing up.
"Just because I'm a girl has nothing to do with it." I say loudly feeling like he's discriminating me because of who I am. "You can't just discriminate me because of my gender. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I should be treated any better than any other soldier out on the field!" I say also standing up.
"It has everything to do with meaning why you should! Your a girl!" He says. "You shouldn't be subjected to any danger that the others are placed in. Your a girl Alex! And girls aren't supposed to be in war fare!" He say loudly. I decide against arguing anymore and turn away. Why do I even try anymore? You know what, I'm not gonna argue about this anymore. I should be treated the same.
"*Whistle* Trigger, follow lead. I'm not doing this right now. Call me when you decide girls have the same right to be treated as equals and the same as every other soldier." I say ignoring everyone else, and walking out pissed. I put trigger in the car and we drive out. Who is he to tell me how to live my life now. I'm twenty now! And here I thought they would be supportive and thought girls were just as equal as guys. Guess not. Ok, maybe it was just Gerard, but I'm not arguing with him on something like this. After a little while I pull over from driving all over as my phone goes off.
"Hello?"
"Alex Way? This is commander captavus. Your to report to 1122 alabay New Jersey for a meeting." The line then goes dead. Guess I'm heading to New Jersey.Once in New Jersey I see other retrieve dogs outside, and let trigger out with them. I then head inside. It was dark, then sparks started to appear at the sides of the door, as I walk in and lights soon turn on. It was a Christmas party. My hands covered my mouth. I guess this really will be a great Christmas and may not be ruined.
Turns out, it was a military Christmas, and since it was my first time it was mandatory to go to, and I would still be given time to spend with my family. After a while, and a few shots, and drinks later, I got a call. I didn't even bother checking the caller ID as it was all blurry to me anyway.
"Hhelllloooo." I sing.
"Alex? I-I'm sorry. I was just so mad that you got put in danger, I just don't want you to get hurt. Your right, girls have just as much right as guys do, and-"
"Who is this? Wait, I know this. I know this. I-I do t know this. Who is this? I'm a little tea pot," I say in my much drunken state, I also had agreed to any drink and drinking game there was cause I kinda had to get my mind off of gee and let loose at the time
"Alex? Are you drunk?" He asks.
"N-nooooo~ what are you talking about? I am Alex! I am a beautiful unicorn. I'm a unicorn, - I'm a a a. Unicorn named sparkles."
"Hey Mikey, your daughter is declaring she's a beautiful unicorn named sparkles." He says from behind him.
"K way! Here's yah shot! Come play never have I ever with vodka with us." Someone says as they pull me over to a table.
"K-k! Bye who ever this is." I say.A couple days later I decided to head back home, also after a lot of calls from uncle gee I forgave him. I know he was just being protective of me. He always is, and I also think a couple of other people were thinking something like that, but he was just the maddest.
"Dad." I sigh as dad comes running out of the house and hugs me tightly.
"Thank god your home again." He sighs as he holds me. He smiles at me once more before we walk in the house. I am glad to be back. Back home. With my family. No danger to worry about now. Not here.
