"Where are you going?" Luke asks as I drop by my room to pick up some stuff.
"Assignment. I have to draw someone." I tell him. "I'll bring back dinner when I get back."
"Why don't you draw me? "
I roll my eyes. "I'm drawing Elliott."
"Oh." He smirks. "Have fun then."
I'm meeting Elliott by the Architecture building, where the lighting is always good regardless what time it is. They always keep it on, the school is lit by numerous sources of light 24/7, to spot out couples making out or unwanted outsiders wandering in.
Adriana is on a date tonight, which means I can't have a third party to reduce the sexual tension between Elliott and I. I can't have Johnson come with me because he takes time making friends and building relationships with people, unlike Adriana who can just start talking to anyone and actually keep the conversation going. It's one of the things I adore about her, she's just so easy to go with, she projects this aura around you that makes you feel comfortable with her.
I spot Elliott leaning by one of the walls outside the building. We make our way inside and find a decent spot to work.
"So I just have to sit here?" He asks.
"Yeah, just don't make any silly faces."
"Like this?" He asks as he fills his cheeks with air, accompanied with a contagious smile that makes its way to me. I chuckle, shaking my head as I flip to a blank page on my sketchpad. "Stop it."
He stops, straightening his back and running his hand along his hair. "Can I look at you?"
I stagger, taken off guard by his question. No one's ever asked me that question while I draw them. They usually just either decide to look at me or focus their attention on something else.
"I mean, you don't have to." I answer.
"I want to look at you." He smiles.
I feel the red flush through my cheeks, how many times have I blushed today? I'm not quite sure but I'm assuming that I may have broken the Guinness Book of Records for most amount of blushes within twenty-four hours.
I start off with his facial structure, a sharp jaw with a well defined chin.
_ . _
The evening goes by peacefully, there were no professors roaming around to snoop out couples sneaking out at night. There were no students finding a spot to hide from whoever decides to take a walk at this time of the night.
Elliott and I finish at around eight in the evening, which is bad news because I've promised Lucas to bring dinner, and he must be starving by now. Adriana is on her way back from her date, and tells me to meet me outside the dorm buildings tomorrow morning.
"Would you like to get something to eat?" He asks, nodding over the gates.
"Is take-out okay?" I ask. "I told Luke I'll bring him dinner when I get back."
"Sure." He smiles, wrapping an arm around me.
We head out and start talking about anything, something to avoid that awkward silence two people have. I'm still carrying my sketchpad with one arm, making me question myself if I should wrap my other arm around his torso.
But thinking about it, Elliott and I haven't really talked about it yet. We haven't discussed what we really are, if we're more than just friends or not. I can't assume that he wants to be together with me, and so far there's no evidence I can use to support that theory.
