"So where do you wanna go Corey?"

"I have just the place in mind" he says

"ok lets go" so Corey backed the car out the drive way and started us to 'just the place in mind'

We were on the road for like 10 minutes until we stopped at the edge of a forest like thing but it was so beautiful tall green trees full of life and birds chirping this is the best 'just the place in mind' place you have ever been to.

You go to open the car door "wait!" Corey says quickly and you look at him puzzled. He jumped out the car and half walked half ran and opened the door for you

"oh Corey why do you have to be such a sweet heart?" You asked

"I don't know, it's just good people deserve good in return I guess" he said

"you really think I'm a good person?" You ask blushing a little

"yeah, I think your the best" he said

"aww thanks Corey" you say, hugging him, but as you hugged him you noticed a bruise towards the back of his neck

"Corey, what happened to your neck?" You ask, you really cared about him and you just didn't want him to be hurt

"oh it's nothing" he said avoiding eye contact

"Corey, I know your lying, tell me, I don't exactly have anyone to tell now, do I?" You say

"ok I'll tell you when we get to where I'm taking you, come on it's real cool" he says taking your hand so you follow him

You were walking hand in hand with Corey through the beautiful forest "Corey, I've lived here my whole life and never knew this was here and you have been here for a week and you know it's here, I guess it's cuz I don't have many friends and don't go anywhere often enough" you say with a sigh

"well thats all about to change, we can discover this place together, and, I bet you have like heaps of friends your so nice and funny and can play piano like there's no tomorrow and is the prettiest girl I've ever seen" he says

"you really think that about me" you say to Corey

"well yeah I do" he says looking at his feet

"look me in the eyes Corey, please" you plead and so he looked you right in the eyes and so you noticed how beautiful his eyes are. A nice brown colour. You instantly adored them.

"I really do, y/n, I really really do" he says

"I'm sorry it's just your the first person to say that to me. .. ever" you say

"well I mean it" he says

After a moment of silence you ask: "anyway how am I pretty?"

"how are you not?" Corey responds

"I just can't see it in me Corey, I never have, and I was like alwau6s called ugly and it doesn't help when all the girls at school wear like ten layers of make up and think the sun shines out their fuckinh arse and all they do is tell everyone how perfect and pretty they are and how ugly people like me are" you explain

"that's what it's like at every school there's a shitload of them bitches that have done every guy at school and doesn't care about anyone else but themselves" Corey says and you laugh "also you have a real cute laugh" he adds

"no, I sound like a dying seal" you say and Corey 'falls' the the ground laughing

"need some help" you say offering him your hand so he can sit up but he just pulls you down beside him and you both laugh together

"hey don't you think that cloud looks like a llama?" Corey says

"yeah and that one looks like a donkey with a rainbow coming out its arse" you say and corey laughs

"to be honest it does"

You and Corey lie next to each other looking at the clouds for a while when Corey says "hey there's still somewhere I gotta show you" and so you both got to your feet and Corey grabbed your hand and lead you through the forest some more until you came to a small lake

"Oh my god Corey! It's beautiful" you exclaim

"yeah I found it the other day" he says. He lead you over to a tree and sat there asking you to sit next to him

"this is really nice Corey, it's the nicest thing anyone has ever done with me, I appreciate that bro" you say

"hey it's gonna get way better" he said

You two now sat there in silence for a while and just enjoyed the moment when you felt Corey's hand go around your waist and pull you closer to him, which you did gladly, leaning against his shoulder. You began to realise you actually did like him, like really like him

"Corey this is perfect" you say

"Yeah, it is, isn't it" he says and you sit there in silence for a few minutes.

"Corey what happened to your neck" you say, breaking the silence

(edit from the future: warning of domestic abuse + i really am glad this is such a poor description of what it's really like, i wish it was this easy to talk about irl aye)

"ok y/n, you have to promise not to tell anyone" he says

"ok, I promise" you say

"pinkie swear" he says so we kiss our pinkies and link them

"pinkie swear" you repeat

"ok" he said "well I might have to show you this" he says, and so he took off his shirt, revealing bruises and cuts all over his back

"Corey, who did this to you?" You ask

"my parents" he says beginning to cry

"Corey, please don't cry" you said, almost crying yourself, other people pain hurts, knowing you cant do much hurts more, so you hugged him to comfort him "Corey, just promise me this, if they say it's your fault, it's not, it's never your fault, ok?"

"only you and Corey Haim know about this" he says

"ok" and you release him "Corey what's the time?" You ask and he looks at his watch

"Shit! We gotta go or we'll be late!" He exclaims so he puts his shirt on and gets up and offering you his hand so you can get up. He takes your hand and leads back to the car and he opens the door for you

"even in a rush you are still such a gentleman" you say and he jumps into the other side of the car

"let's roll"

Additional future note: re reading this and editing this three or four or so years later really makes me wish i was as innocent and unaware to the pain the world now has opened my eyes to, but yet i know without the pain i have endured - in all forms more than just physical - i wouldnt be who i am today, the true conflict that now in my heart.
