I ran to my mothers side. I checked her pulse to see if she was alive. SHE WAS. I was so relived but I still knew she was in danger.
I picked up the phone and dialed 911. "911 What's your emergency?"
"Hi, I just got home t-to find my m-m-mom lying on the floor past out!" I say as I try to stay calm.
"Ok Sweety can you tell me your address?" The lady asks.
"It's 6439 McGrove Lane NE Austin Texas." I say through tears.
"Alright we are on are way get an ice pack and put it on her four head ."
I hang up the phone and race to the kitchen to get an ice pack.
10 min later.
The ambulance comes and puts my mom on one of those things that you can cary people on. I climb in the truck and sit by my moms side, I grab her hand and hold it tightly tears forming in my eyes.
"What's your name honey?" A southern voice asks.
"Claire-Claire Morgan,"I say as I fight through tears.
"Well we're gonna take good care of your momma, OK? What's her name?"
"Her name is Christine Ryans."
About 5 mins later we get to the hospital, the Dr.'s start to draw blood and then put some IV's in her wrist. They escort me to a waiting room and I sit in a big chair. I cry and cry. I look at my phone and it's 4:07 about the time Kevin gets home from school. So I decide to call him.
"Hello? Who is this," he asks in his innocent voice.
"It's me Claire. Kevin I have some bad news. I'm at the hospital right know with mom. When I got home from school she Was on the floor passed out. I'm going to call uncle Jake and aunt Linda so they can pick you up,OK?"
All I get as a respons is crying and more crying.
"Why is she t-there at the h-hospital," he asks with fear.
"I'm not quite sure about that. But I'm gonna have to go know bc I have to check in on mom and call Uncle Jake. Goodbye I love you."
"Love you to." I hear him start to sob but then he hangs up the phone.
I put my head in my lap and I just cry.
Then the head doctor comes in with a file.
"Claire I'm afraid I have some horrible news, your mother has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer"
As I stare into space my legs start to feel like jelly. Then everything starts to collapse. And with that I'm submerged into thick darkness.
