“Ah yes, Miss Granger, glad you could join us this fine afternoon.” Professor McGonagall said, “glad you could make it…” she said, a worried expression trying not to show on her ever so familiar face.

“What is it professor?” I asked quietly, feeling the distress in the air,

“Miss Granger, I have to ask something of you, and you willn’t like it much I am sorry to say, I’ll ask you once the other is here too.”

                “All right…”

“Ah, Mister Malfoy, glad you could make it.” Professor McGonagall said with a weak smile.

“So what’s all this about, and what’s that filthy little mudblood doing here?” he said with a sneer of disgust.

“Mr. Malfoy, I will not tolerate such language in my presence.” McGonagall said, with a slight glare at the platinum blonde across from me.

“Professor what is that blundering imbecile doing here anyways?”

“That’s what I was getting to, if you two could shut your mouths and quit bickering for just a moment it would be much appreciated.” We said nothing. “Very well. Well it seems that Lord Voldemort” - Draco Cringed -“had a curse implemented, for all death eaters under the age of 18 that would come into effect after his death, that all who didn’t die with him, for him, would either have to love a muggle born, the most disgusting thing he could ever imagine, or die after their 19th birthday. The ones above we haven’t the slightest clue but we do know that that it whatever it is it won’t be pretty.  Either way Draco, Hermione, we know of your past, but seeing as there are no muggle born Slytherins we decided the best option was the only muggle born Gryffindor in their 7th year. You miss Granger.”

“You… want me… to love… THAT?!” I screeched, “Can’t this be reversed or something!?”

“I’m with the mudblood.” Malfoy said, seemingly astounded McGonagall would even mention this.

“No. I’m afraid not. This is extremely dark magic. Beyond what we revel in, death curses are the only unforgivable ones – as you’ve seen there are only 3 – but the minister has suggested adding a few of these to the list in years previous, of course they were long since forgotten. Lord Voldemort of course has a history with dark magic and would be the one to bring it all back.”

“And how do you propose I fall in love with her?” he asked.

“You aren’t actually insinuating we DO THIS!?!?”

“…I don’t want to die Granger.” He said quietly.

“Fine then, professor how do you propose we do this?” I asked, still fuming.

“Well I was getting to that. Since you’ve come back to finish out one more year, possibly more if you go into deeper studies as some of our students do, we have a set up prepared. You will have a dorm; we will say to the students that you are the prefects, though you will not be staying in the prefects’ room with the others.  We will inform the prefects of your situation, otherwise it will be kept quiet. You will have to deal with everything else on your own. I am sorry to have to force you both into this, but it has to be real. Good luck to the both of you.” She said, “I must be getting to work on your dormitory.” And with that she was gone.
