Russiosteel sinks down to one knee and is joined by the battered Iceshot. They share a look and glance to where Freedom Forward and Arrow Av are. The two are hovered over the unconscious body of Portal. Star Vision is nowhere in sight.
Russiosteel and Iceshot link arms and hobble over to where the trio is. As they get within a foot, Portal slowly pushes himself up. He looks terrible, his hair is messy and he has a black eye and his leg is twisted in a painful-looking way. He attempts to sit up but screams in agony. Freedom Forward and Arrow Av bend down to aid him. They grab his arms and lift him up. Portal groans but thanks them for the help.
Suddenly a loud explosion type of sound echoes toward them. "GRRRR!! I WANTED TO WREAK CHAOS ALL UP ON THAT FOOTBALL PLAYER'S ASS!!" They all look back to see the top of the car flying just past them to the left side. Star Vision, who has finally returned, is glowing green...literally his whole body is green. And Chaos is glowing his reddish-orange color. In his arms he has a drunk-looking Tyler Seguin.
Chaos controls his anger and his glow and returns to normal, while Star Vision does the same. They walk over and Chaos puts the spy on the ground. "Holy hell he's heavy. For a spy."
"Shut up Vladdy," Iceshot snorts. "Someone needs to hit the gym some more."
Chaos looks at Portal and then down at his feet, unable to make a sly retort. "This is because of me right? If I hadn't gotten hotheaded and stormed off..."
"No, no, it's not your fault Vladdy," Portal mutters.
"Uh, yeah it is!" Iceshot snaps, putting his hands on his hips. "Why don't you just go back into the lobby and sit down? Someone could've died today because of you! We should've had the jump on that goon and we most likely would've won! But instead--"
"Gabriel!" Portal scolds.
Vladdy snaps his head back up and looks at the pissed off Iceshot. The Tampa forward opens his mouth to say something. But instead, he spins around and races toward the headquarters, covering his face with his hands.
Arrow Av reaches back for one of his arrows and notches it into his bow. "Got him, guys." He aims at the Tampa forward and lets the arrow fly. In the air, the tip shoots out, bringing a line with it. It loops around Chaos' legs, tripping him up. He falls to the ground. The archer drops his bow and darts forward. He grabs Chaos' arms and helps him back to his feet.
Arrow Av guides the sobbing man back to the group. Tyler is looking through heavy eyelids at Jamie, who has removed his goggles. Iceshot has his arms folded across his chest. He rolls his eyes and mutters, "Don't be a big baby, Vladdy."
At this, Chaos stops sobbing and glares at the Colorado captain. Before he can speak another sound draws their attention. This time, up above them. Storm clouds race in fast and build at an accelerated speed.
"What the--? Does anyone know of anyone who has Atmokinesis?" Portal asks.
"No good," Arrow Av remarks, looking opposite where the headquarters' building was.
Russiosteel nods and points toward the corner of the street, past where the car part had landed. Behind it there was a heap of debris and glistening back at them they could make out Showtime's stick. "Kaner."
Lightning crackles overhead; it isn't drawn by Torey Krug or Antti Niemi or any weather manipulator, it is real and raw. Jonathan Toews staggers from the remains, holding an unconscious Patrick Kane in his arms. His wings are tattered behind him. He makes it a few feet forward, before he drops to the ground.
"Peeks, no! Peeks!!" Jonathan screams, grabbing his blond friend, cupping his arms around his head in the process. "You're a good friend Patrick...please, please don't leave me!"
