Chapter 1:
"Be mindful of your blind side!"
A shuriken sliced itself through my left arm, leaving a superficial wound; not bad, it's the first hit Tsunade-sama has landed all day. I yanked the shuriken from my forearm, ignoring Tsunade's senseless babbles.
"Y/N; are you even listening?!" It was becoming evident that Tsunade's feathers were not going to withstand much more ruffling.
I sighed, "Tsunade-sama, can we call it a day? It's mid-afternoon." I had only then realized what a nice day it was. The training grounds were full, so Tsunade took my lessons to the forestry outside the village. Though the trees were thick, the sunlight illuminated the spot we had found perfectly.
Tsunade agreed. "We'll take a break, there is a pond not too far from here."
"So what was that trick you-" I had begun to respond when I had sensed 2 chakra flows."Hide!" I whispered, sending myself to a nearby tree.
I observed the path we were near from the tree, being mindful to hide my chakra. I held a kunai in my hand, ready to protect the Hokage, if necessary.
I was beginning to doubt my senses when I heard some normal level talking;
"So, pervy sage, what do you think has changed in Konoha?"
A sliver of yellow passed that way.
"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that?" Said the second voice, older than the first,"I have a name! That's rude, anyhow, seeing as that I'm your teacher."
The first boy spoke, "Okay, Jiraiya sensei."
"Jiraiya? You mean the toad sage?" I gasped, surprised that pervert had returned, only to lose my grip and fall to the ground, my kunai entering my hip. I hit the forest floor, the sound of my fall alarming the ninja traveling the path. I let out a scream from the pain of the long knife inside me. I heard Tsunade-sama call my name.
"Y/N! Where are you?"
Jiraiya turned from the trail, having noticed where we were.
"Tsunade," The surprised sannin asked, looking our way." Who is that Chunin that you're assisting?"
"This is my student, Y/N-Y/L/N. Don't you remember? She ruined your draft after you requested she helped you with your "research"." Tsunade clarified, giggling while healing my wound. I looked up to see a certain yellow-haired shinobi.
"Y/N-chan?" Naruto looked surprised to see me. Well, it had been 3 years since he had left to train with Jiraiya. He had undergone many changes; he was very tall now, possibly taller than the others now. He had buffed up, and overall looked like... well, a man.
"N-Naru-k-kun...?" I was so surprised, it had been so long, and I had worried about him all the time he was gone. I immediately stood up, ignoring the pain in my hip and rushed to hug him. I wrapped my arms around his chest, only meeting the top of his shoulder, resting my head just there. I embraced him tightly. He had tensed for a second, not expecting this sort of affection from anyone, but quickly complied, wrapping his arms tightly around my waist whilst nuzzling his head into my neck.
"I missed you too, Y/N-chan."
