Dream come true

chapter 5

  'Are you going to be okay if I leave you?' 'I should be alright' I say to Liam. He starts packing up his things, getting ready to go, he's been so kind and patient waiting with me all day. Early this morning about maybe 9ish Liam came to the hospital to pick me up and take me back to my dorm. Since then we've both spent the whole day together. On our way home from the hospital I started feeling sick again, Liam was so kind and considerate, he pulled over the car and helped by holding my hair out of my face, not really the way any girl expects to spend her first day with a guy like Liam, yet he was charming and nice and so considerate. Once home he set me down in my bed then went back out and brought me my favourite, I didn't even tell him what it was but he came back with a blueberry muffin and a hot chocolate from muffin break.
After that we didn't really do much else, I tried to get some sleep and he just hung around, watching TV, occasionally reading.

As he goes to leave I stop him, 'hey, thank you so much for everything today and yesterday. I'm so sorry, none of this should've happened, if only I had of watched where I was walking.' I feel so embarrassed and annoyed at myself, none of this should've happened. I never meant to walk into him, I never meant for any of this to happen and I feel awful about it.
'Hey, it's okay, accidents happen.' He paused 'and, just between me and you, today was so much better than I thought it would've been. Get well soon Sophie.' I smile at him, he really is so sweet 'thanks Liam.'

As he starts walking towards the door he stops, turning to me he says, 'hey, maybe I should give you my number.. In case you need anyone else, you know.'

This is it, my moment. I have always been a very shy and insecure girl, that is until I would get one of my RBCs (random bursts of confidence), and here it is, I feel it coming

'Or, unless you wanted to call me anytime, maybe I should give you mine, just you know, in case you ever need anything.'
I smile, and like a big smile too, I know I don't know how to flirt, but maybe, just maybe this might be it..?
'Haha,' he laughs 'that sounds like a good idea'

We exchange numbers, I say thank you again probably another million times and he leaves.
If your wondering what this means, well yes, yes for Liam and I this really was the start of something new.
