I climb out of the car and walk into the gleaming white palace. When I look up at the window, I see a figure watching me. At first, I think it's the prince, but on closer examination, he's much, much older. Upon arriving in my room, I'm introduced to my maid, a cheerful girl named Amethyst who has long blonde hair and purple eyes. At supper, I avoid eye contact until the Queen walks in. She's grander in person. Everyone shoots out of their seats to greet her. "Sit down girls." She says, with a hint of laughter in her voice and a smile on her face. Her eyes discreetly scan the room. Her eyes land on my face. "Lucas is vey excited to meet you all and choose his future bride. However, there are rules here, just as there always have been rules in your providence. Number one: If you need anything, come to anyone for help. Number two: Treat each other with respect." The girl sitting next to me frowns. "Not just each other, but also Lucas, myself, the king, and the other princes and princesses." We nod. "That's all for now. Enjoy your meal." She smiles. As she walks out of the room, I see her shudder as another figure comes next to her. As I'm heading to my room, I hear the queen's voice. "Jace," she sobs. "I can't loose Luke. He's our son." I slip behind a wall. "I can't loose him either Sar." The king responds. "But it's for the better. When he's married and has an heir, we'll pass the throne to him and we can live the rest of our lives the way we planned it." I walk quickly to my room. The king and queen didn't want this. I grab the history books on my shelf and dismiss Amethyst. I open to the first page in the first book.
Chapter One
The Coronation of King Jace and Queen SaraWhen the country fell on the brink of collapse, the people chose Jace Norman and his wife, Sara Gard to rule. Despite their families refusals, the king and queen were crowned in a beautiful ceremony in Washington DC. A few short weeks later, the queen gave birth to a handsome baby boy named Lucas. 3 years later, the queen gave birth to Princess North. Around the same time, the king and queen were strongly considering handing their throne to the Meyers, another family who was a 2.
I freeze. I was born a 2? Why and how did we get moved down. I continue reading.
It consisted of Peyton Meyer and his wife, Rowan Blanchard who had a daughter of a few years. However, Rowan's sister was caught plotting against the throne and the Meyer and Blanchard families were put down to Sixes and continue to remain there. For more information about the Meyers and Blanchards, search for a book under the name, Meyers and Blanchards.
I grab the book.
I flip to the family tree. The first line under Mom and Dad says,
Rosalind Meyers
That's all. I flip to the first chapter. This is gonna be interesting.
