“Hey love! Are you ready to go?” Emily heard Louis call from down the hall.
She walked out of their shared bedroom. “Yes! Let me just grab my bag.” She said grabbing a black bag from the closet.
Emily walked out of the bedroom and into the living room where Louis was sitting on the couch. He was wearing a white tank top and black skinny jeans, a beanie topped his head, and his fringe peeked out of the top.
He looked up and smiled when he saw Emily. “Well don’t you look cute.” He smiled looking her up and down.
She was wearing dark blue skinny jeans and a light grey V-neck shirt. Her favorite necklace was around her neck and her charm bracelet was around her wrist. Her shoulder length brown hair fell in faint curls around her face.
Emily smiled at the compliment. “Well thank you.”
“Ready to go?” He said once more, standing up.
“Yeah, ready as I’ll ever be.” Emily laughed.
Once they were in the car, Emily stared out the window. Her brothers, John and Cade, had invited her and Louis over to hang out for the day. Normally she wouldn’t have minded if just one wanted to hang out, but with both of them together she would be the topic of all the jokes and pranks.

“Em!” Cade shouted from the window when Louis and Emily pulled up.
Emily waved and got out of the car.
“It’ll be fine love.” Louis said, knowing Emily was nervous.

About twenty minutes into being at Cade’s flat, Emily was at the brink of tears. Relentless comments from Cade had pushed her over the edge.
“Why won’t you defend me?” She looked at John.
He just shrugged, looking away.
“That’s really rude mate.” Louis finally piped up.
“Oh now you have your boyfriend fighting your battles?” Cade ridiculed.
“I’m not fighting her battles; I’m defending my girlfriend who’s got a twat of a brother.” Louis spat out.
“Why don’t you say that to my face mate.” Cade challenged Louis.
Louis stood up from his spot and walked over to Cade. Although Louis was shorter than Cade, he was a lot stronger than him.
“Hey, guys don’t. Seriously. We’ll just leave now.” Emily grabbed Louis’ arm and pulled him out the door.
Louis slammed the car door once he got in and huffed.
“Louis, calm down, seriously.” Emily said, wiping away stray tears.
“I just can’t believe your brothers sometimes. And you let them walk all over you!” He exclaimed.
“I’m—I’m sorry Lou.” Emily stuttered out.
“No, no, it’s not your fault at all love.” He wiped away another tear from her cheek.
“Can we go somewhere else?” Emily asked, looking up at Louis.
His blue eyes sparkled when he smiled down at her. “Of course. Where to?” He asked her.
“How about the park?” Emily’s eyes lit up thinking of the idea.
Louis chuckled. “Sounds like a great plan.”
Emily smiled, before looking out the window once more. It was later in the day and the sun had gone down a little.
Louis parked in the small parking lot by the park and got out, rushing over to Emily’s side to open the door for her.
“Oh how sweet.” She said to him, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
Louis smiled, taking Emily’s hand.
They walked through the park, talking about the upcoming tour Louis would have to leave for, before finding a bench in a more secluded part of the park. They sat down and were silent for a while. Emily rested her head on Louis shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
“Can we just stay like this?” Emily broke the silence, looking up at Louis.
“Well, we might get kicked out for being in the park after hours.” Louis laughed, kissing Emily’s forehead.
She frowned, not wanting to leave. She put her head back down on Louis’ shoulder and looked up at the sun that was beginning to set behind a large mountain.
“I love you babe.” She heard Louis say.
Emily smiled. “I love you too, Louis.” She replied.
