This one is legitimately my art this time. No wonder I trace...
Ivory!
---You know you're insane when you start referring to a training camp for heroes as home and normal. Well, no one's thrown me in an asylum yet...
After a few days of Camp Half Blood, it was Friday. I was so totally pumped to capture a flag! Let's do this thing! Hermes cabin was on blue team, lead by Percy Jackson, with Hecate, Apollo, Aphrodite, Ares, Iris, and a bunch of other vowels, I think. The Athena cabin was leading the other team, with cabins Dionysus, Hades, Janus, Nike, Hephaestus, a bunch of other consonants... okay, I don't remember half of my cabin mates names, you expect me to remember this many other cabins?!
As I was struggling to strap my armor on, Kayla ran up to me, grinning, her helmet tucked under her arm. "Hey, Hunt!"
"How do you do this?" I yelped, contorted into the weirdest position ever. Kayla giggled slightly and helped me out. With my heavy bronze chest plate placed properly on my chest, Kayla stepped back and smiled. "There we are."
"Thanks." I put my helmet on. The cold metal felt funny on my head. "So what do I do?"
"Percy will probably want you on defense. Just try not to kill yourself."
"Um, is this possibility high?" I asked.
Kayla laughed, dark eyes glittering. "You'll be fine." She put her blue plumed helmet over her braided hair and ran over to her cabin mates. I saw Will hand her a bow.
Someone slapped my back. I jumped and turned around. "Cecil! Man, don't do that!"
The son of Hermes smiled mischievously and handed me a long bronze sword. It felt awkward in my hand as I took it. "Try not to stab anyone. Especially yourself."
"Thanks for the optimism." I glanced around at the woods we were in. The trees around us all smelled like... well, trees. And the dirt smelled like dirt, and so on. But it smelled... I don't know, right. It smelled like a forest. I liked that.
Then I remembered the woods were stocked with monsters. I didn't like the woods so much anymore.
Cecil was staring at a girl. Dark hair, back to him. "You like her?" I asked him.
"What?" Cecil spluttered. "No- no! Me and Lou are just friends."
"Mhm." I said, smirking. "I'm not blind."
Chiron came up to the assembled campers. The crowd fell silent with respect. "Heroes! You know the rules- no maiming, prisoners may be disarmed but not bound or gagged, the creek is the boundary line, only two team members can guard the flag. First team to bring the other team's flag to their side of the creek wins! Ready yourselves!"
The dark haired girl Cecil was staring at ran up. "Come on!" She said to Cecil. "We're going offensive."
Cecil ran off with her, leaving me to try to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to be doing.
A boy with bright sea green eyes came up to me. "Hunter, right? I'm Percy."
"Hi." So this was the guy who saved the world at least twice? In my opinion, he looked kinda meh. Then again, I'd never seen the guy fight. "Care to tell me what I'm doing?"
"You can guard a flag, right?"
"I think so."
"Great. I'm putting you on guard duty with Mitchell. He's from Aphrodite, and he can show you the ropes."
I nodded sharply and Percy jogged off to give the others orders. A boy I assumed was Mitchell came up to me, holding a blue banner. A single tuft of brown hair had escaped his helmet and his eyes glittered with anticipation. "Hunter?"
