Chapter 6

"Come on, let's go." Jonas whispered to the small group of people behind him. "You're going to lead us to their base?" Someone asked. Jonas nodded and looked up into the moon. "It's not that far," Jonas sighed, looking back down at the darkness of the metro station, "stay behind me, and we'll get there by an hour and a half." Jonas and the small group of a dozen behind him set off, with Janice watching them from the bottom of the stairs.

"Something wrong?" Mark asked from behind Janice. She jumped in fear but turned to him afterwards. She shook her head with a sigh of relief. "That's good, haha. Those guys up there are leaving, huh?" Mark laughed quietly. "Jonas is just leading then, he's not going himself." Janice corrected him. Mark laughed again, and pulled out a bottle of alcohol. "It's really amazing, what's happening." He said, popping open the cap and raising the bottle. "Want some?" He asked Janice. He took a sip after she shook her head.

"What do you mean?" Janice asked her. Mark sat down and explained, "For years and years we've been thinking there was no life outside our planet. Now that we have found them-or they found us-they're terrorizing us. After thousands of years of advancing technology and weaponry, they just come and kick our ass."

Janice sighed and nodded in agreement. "Can I have some?" She asked. Mark smiled, and handed her the half-empty bottle. She took it and managed to gulp it all down. "Thanks." She burped.

"Want to know a secret?" Mark asked. Janice nodded and looked at him. "The Zodiacs are planning to use us. As an army." Mark revealed to her. "An army for what?" Janice asked. Mark looked around and opened his mouth to speak, when a blue beam struck his shoulder. Janice gasped, and looked up the stairs. A group of Zodiacs stood there with Blasters out. She looked back at Mark, and saw that his arm was now de-attached from his body. Blood was spilling to the floor, and he was on the verge of screaming but the pain didn't allow him too.

"Run!" Mark yelled to Janice, while at the same time alerting most of the camp. Janice scrambled to her feet as more beams blasted by her. Another blast struck Mark in his face and blew half of it off. His screams immediately stopped dead. Janice dove behind a newspaper box stand for cover. She began looking for a weapon, but didn't find anything. A few men from the camp came out of their tents and loaded up their guns. "Shoot them!" Victor ordered, taking out his own revolver. "You fuckers!" Mack roared in grief, loading up his assault rifle and opening fire.

"We're missing men! Where the hell are they?!" Victor asked, blasting off his revolver. A body rolled down the stairs, but more blasts came from the stairs. Two men ran to the frontlines, only to be mowed down by the beams. One of them was still alive after the blast blowing into his chest. He looked at Janice, and slid his shotgun towards Janice. She picked it up, and watched as the man laid his head down and die.

She could hear their footsteps, they were getting close to her. More gunfire erupted from the camps, as Parasites started flying out of the dark tunnels. Janice watched as they attacked some of the men, then she looked back at Mark's dead body. Then she saw them exiting off the stairs and into the station itself. She gulped down, and lifted herself up in the open. She pulled the trigger, but the blast missed and instead hit the wall. She ducked down again, and held in her scream of fears.

"If you don't hold your fire now, we will call the Hangers and we will get the Hounds!" Yelled one of the Zodiacs, giving a few blasts at the camp men. Victor immediately ordered his camp to hold fire at the Zodiacs. A few men kept firing at Parasites though for a minute or two, until they stopped coming. Janice still had her back at the box, and began looking around for Lee.

"Good." One of the Zodiacs laughed, lowering his Blaster. It was obviously the leader. "Now, you see these disgusting examples of your own species? That will be you if you disobey us. Listen up, human scum, throw your guns at us and everything will be ok from now."

Michael and his squad were standing by the entrance of a flower shop. "Did you hear that?" Marco asked the two. Michael an Paul nodded. "Gun fire and Blasters." Michael answered him. "That sounded like a load of gun power. Think it's North Star?" Paul suggested with a question. "Not sure," Michael responded, "we should check it out. It sounded like it was only a few streets ahead."

Just then, two Hangers flew up ahead in the direction of the gunfire. "Fuck, you see that?!" Marco asked. "Shut the fuck up, Marco. We see it." Michael said angrily. "Can't be North Star. They have a huge army, two Hangers isn't enough to take them out. No, that's a survivor camp. A camp that is about to be held captive."

"We can't handle that many Zodiacs," Michael shook his head, "we have to go back."

"What about saving innocent people?" Paul looked at Michael in disgust. "We don't even have enough ammunition for those many Zodiacs." Michael pointed out. "Paul, I don't want to face them either." Marco said in a low manner.

"I can't do this alone." Paul sighed.

"Then don't do it at all." Micheal responded.

"You're really going to let some people be held captive? Are you tired, is that it? Goddamnit Michael, we need to save those people!"

"You can go right on ahead Paul, but we're leaving home."

Paul shook his head and barked, "Give me your magazines." "What?" Michael asked. Paul repeated his order in a louder tone. Michael gave Paul a ugly look while handing him five assault rifle magazines. Marco reluctantly handed him three. Paul nodded and walked off. "A real hero doesn't get tired from saving people. A real hero just dies."

Paul ran down a few streets, and took cover beside a building. He peaked out and saw the two Hangers landing on the ground, and the rear door opening to the ground. Two dozens of Zodiacs exited out of the Hangers, and loaded up their Blasters. Paul took a deep breath, and closed his eyes.
