THANKS TO MIDNIGHT_LILAC FOR BEING AWESOME AND HER AMAZING FANFICS :) ENJOY!

I decided I'm writing in past tense for the rest of this story, because present tense is too hard :)

"Head up! Keep your back straight!" Carnell shouted, tapping my back with a long rod. As I completed five laps around the manor with three plates on my head, I stopped to take a break. "Cana, balance is a required trait in training. Oh, and, by the way, you're scheduled to meet the Queen next week. You're off to London tomorrow." Carnell sighed, "Unfortunately, I won't be going with you." I remembered as a look of sadness crossed his face.

"Of course not, you'll be dead." I was brought back to reality as I woke up. I rubbed my face and sighed. Carnell was dead and now I was stuck with Ciel and his demon butler, whose name was Sebastian. Since I received news that Carnell was dead, I've had that dream every night. Right before leaving for London and the last time I would ever hear Carnell's voice.

I've been at the Phantomhive manor for over a week, and everything's been the same. I wake up, steal breakfast from the kitchen, eat in my room, and stare out the window the whole day. Carnell was dead, and I was alone.

I still remember when I saw him for the first time. Dressed in a black coat, he helped me up after I had escaped from the horrible slavery cult where I had met Ciel. Remember how he'd brought me to the manor and trained me to be someone who was strong. Remember how he ate with me, laughed with me, but unfortunately, died before me. I couldn't even say goodbye, and he was gone. The moment I met him, my life started over. Coming from a family with abusive parents, I can't say I missed my old life.

There had been many firsts with Carnell. First birthday, first bull's eye, first victory, first mission. The person who gave birth to the Cana I was now was gone. Before I realized, I was singing a song I wrote with Carnell.

"You're not alone
Together we stand
I'll be by your side, you know I'll take your hand
When it gets cold
And it feels like the end
There's no place to go
You know I won't give in
No I won't give in

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

So far away
I wish you were here
Before it's too late, this could all disappear
Before the doors close
And it comes to an end
With you by my side I will fight and defend
I'll fight and defend
Yeah, yeah

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Hear me when I say, when I say I believe
Nothing's gonna change, nothing's gonna change destiny
Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

La da da da
La da da da
La da da da da da da da da

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Keep holding on
Keep holding on

There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through"

"You have a nice voice."

I looked up in shock and saw Ciel leaning against the doorframe. After me avoiding him for a week, I thought he would've left me alone.

"What do you want?" I asked. Obviously, Ciel was unused to being talked to in such a frank matter as he shifted on his feet.

"A guest is coming over today. I want you to be presentable. Come down at five." Ciel ordered and stepped out of the room.

For a minute, I debated whether or not to go. After all, I could beat Ciel up and run away whenever I wanted. After an hour of doing nothing, I decided to go. I had nothing to do anyway. Choosing a black dress from my unwanted wardrobe, I quickly tried to dress, but found it impossible to tie the corset by myself.

"Need some help, Milady?" A voice purred from behind me. I yelped and turned around, swinging my fist at the voice. Before I could contact the intruder, my arm was caught by a gloved hand and I found myself staring into a pair of crimson eyes. Sebastian. I narrowed my eyes and wrenched my arm out of his hand.

"I don't want your help," I snarled. The demon watched amusingly as I tried to unsuccessfully tie my corset. Eventually, the demon got tired of my futile efforts and stepped behind me to help me. Begrudgingly, I let him. When he turned me in front of a mirror, I discovered the dress I had on wasn't the black one I had picked but a pleasant rose one. "Huh?"

"Black is rather dark, don't you think? No good for dinner." Sebastian said, a smirk tugging at his lips.

"As if you would know, demon." I said, sighing as I tied my hair in a messy bun and walked out of the bathroom.

Sebastian followed me down and into the ballroom, clicking his tongue as he realized he was late.

"I must be going now, Lady Aloister."

"Likewise, demon." I dropped a sarcastic curtsy to Sebastian and sauntered out to the gardens. I took a deep breath and crouched close to the ground. It had been a week since I had been outside and I was more than glad for the beautiful garden, only...it wasn't beautiful anymore. Covered in smoke and burnt trees, I watched as a blonde rushed around the garden with a huge bucket over his shoulder.

"Oh dear, Sebastian is going to kill me!" He yelled in a squeaky voice. I slowly approached him and tapped him on the shoulder. "SEBASTIAN!!!" He screamed, before turning around to see a young girl who was, well, pretty pissed.

"I would prefer if you didn't call me that." I said, smiling the fakest smile the earth had seen. He lowered his head and gave a shaky bow.

"You must be Lady Aloister, I'm Finnian, and it's nice to meet you! You can just call me Finny." He said, giving a wide toothed smile. I couldn't help but smile in return.

"You can just call me Cana. What's wrong with the garden?" I asked, watching as his face fell.

"SEBASTIAN!!!" This time, the demon was really there. He smiled a menacing smile while a black aura waved around him.

"Lady Aloister, please return to the manor," He bowed and forcefully guided me to the manor.

"Wait, but-" I was silenced as the door slammed behind me." What in the-"

"Ah, Cana,This is the guest we have for dinner, Chlaus." Ciel's voice rang out from behind me.

"Nice to meet you-" I dropped in to a curtsy before I lifted my head and realized who the guest was. Said man's eyes widened and a second of silence passed before he broke out into a hearty laugh.

"Ah, Cana, eh? It's good to see you again!"
