-----Natalie's POV-----

I was in a parking lot, it was raining and the cold breeze entered the car from the open edges. It was a CVS Pharmacy parking lot. I was tired and needed rest. I didn't know where I was, what city or state I was in. I got off the car and entered the store. Luckily it was a 24 hour pharmacy. I was choosing out chips when I noticed someone familiar. Someone I hadn't seen in months.

"Austin?" I asked.

The tattooed man turned around and grinned.

"Natalie! What are you doing around here?"

I was probably in Huntington Beach, where Austin lived.

"I needed to get away from home."

"problems?"

I sighed "you could say that. What are you doing here so late?"

"Picking up some over the counter medicine. I've got a real bad cold."

"I see," i thought about being tired and having no where to go, "Austin I need a favor, a big one."

"Yeah what is it?"

"Can I crash over at your place tonight?"

"Yes, of course! Is everything alright?"

"Not really. Let me pay, I'll tell you everything right now."

I took my things to the cashier, and paid. I waited for Austin and followed him to his car.

"Do you want a ride?" He asked.

"I have to drive my car, I'll follow you over though."

We arrived at his house and I parked my car next to his in the drive way.

"Come on in, it's real cold out here." He said as he held the door open. I stepped inside and let the warmth of his home hit my cold pale face. He took off his jacket and shoes.

"Make yourself comfortable. I'll be back with some tea."

He ran to the kitchen and I heard him preparing the tea.

I sat on the couch and noticed a picture of Austin and a blonde. I picked it up and looked closely.

"Ok! Here you g- what are you doing?" I set the picture down and looked up to him.

"Who is she?" I asked curiously.

He sighed and handed me a cup of tea and sat down.

"A mistake." He said softly.

"Huh?" He got up and went into the kitchen. He returned moments later with scissors in his hands.

"Can I see that?" I gave him the picture and he tore it out if the frame. He began cutting in down the middle, he looked angry.

He sat down next to me with the picture if the blonde in his hand.

"Do you see this girl? Never ever make a friends ship with her. Don't ever talk to her. She's a bitch. A liar. A cheater." He said with tears in his eyes.

"I dated her. I loved her, at least I thought I did. I couldn't be away from her because I needed her with me. So I proposed to her and we got married. I was so happy with her. But she cheated on me. I didn't know how to deal with it. I wouldn't leave the house, I would just sleep all day and drink beer.

i was a disaster. I went through a lot just because of a cheating whore." he lowered his head and rubbed his temple.

"i'm- i'm so sorry i never knew" i spoke up after a few moments of silence.

"no, dont worry. I just feel stupid. Did i really believe that she was innocent? Hashtag idiot." we both chuckled at his cyber reference.

"that's enough of me, what about you? I remember you telling me you had some troubles?" he asked looking me in the eyes.

"Ah, yes. Well it's not very different than your dilemma, it's actually quite the same."

"Jaime?"

"Yeah, except i actually saw him in action. He began saying he "could explain" yet there was no need to. I mean, i caught him fucking a slutty blonde, what's there to explain?" i replied angrily. Austin nodded.

"I don't understand why people compromise and promise to dedicate their time to a person, when in reality they're not ready for that kind of mandatory task. It makes no sense, really. No one's tying anyone down, so if they feel like it's too much responsibility, it's best if they just get out of your life. I know you love Jaime, i can see that you want to spend the rest of your days with him, but if he treats you like this, it's best if you leave him. i really hate seeing you like this. You're one of the closest friends that i've had, and if you are in pain, i will be too."

i felt warm tears falling down my cheeks. I felt a warm sensation in my heart.

"Austin, i- i don't know what to say." i replied with the limited amount of voice i had.

"You don't need to say anything." he leaned over and embraced me in a warm satisfying hug.

"You seem like you need sleep. I'll go get the bed ready. Do you need extra clothes?" he asked as he stood up.

"Yes please. I'll be right back, I'm going to get my phone from my car." i walked to the front door and to my car. I unlocked the car and reached for my phone in the glove box. I hid it because i wanted to ignore Jaime's calls. They were irritating and i needed to get away from him. I locked the car and walked back inside the house.

"Ok, i set down a pair of shorts and a t-shirt on the bed. The room's ready, if you need anything else just let me know." He smiled

"Thank you so much, Austin."

"It's nothing, youre welcome here anytime. Goodnight." he gave me a hug and walked out the room. I checked my phone and saw 48 missed calls, 14 text messages and 17 voice mails. Some were from Jaime and others from Tony. I decided to call Tony, just to let him know i was fine.

"NATALIE!? Jesus christ, Natalie i've been so worried about you! Where are you? are you ok? Should i come get you?" he said frantically.

"Whoa there Turtle, calm it. I'm fine, im staying at a friend's house, i just needed to get away." i replied.

"With who? Natalie don't ever leave without letting me know! Jaime came to look for you and he's been driving around town looking for you. Natalie you need to come home, everyone's freaking out." he said.

"I'm staying at Austin's house in Huntington Beach. What do you mean everybody?"

"Jaime, Vic, Mike, even Stephanie. Austin Carlile?" he asked.

"Yes, Austin Carlile. Tony, please tell them i'm ok. But please please please don't tell Jaime where i am. I don't want him to come looking for me." i replied. He sighed and stayed quite for a few moments.

"I'll try, but you know Jaime, he will nag until he gets an answer.. How about you call him? Just let him know you're doing fine, you don't need to tell him where you are." he did have a point. I decided to call him to inform him of my state. I really didn't feel like speaking to him, but i needed to.

"Ok, well i'll call you back right now." i told Tony. I hung up and began dialing Jaime's number. I stared at the phone, for a while before clearing the dial-pad. I shook my head and dialed Tony again.

"That was quick, did you tell him?" Tony said as he answered.

"No Tony, i couldn't. Could you? Please Tone." I pleaded. He sighed loudly once again.

"Fine. I'll let him know. By the way, when are you coming back?" he asked.

"I'm not sure, not soon. Thanks Tony, goodnight." I hung up and plugged my phone to charge.

I guess it's true when they say 'The one's you love the most, hurt you the most.' I really love Jaime, but maybe Austin is right, maybe I do need to leave him. For my best, for everyone's best..
