Lordy, I thought limping through my front door at 8 in the morning, it's early. My leg hurt so bad, I felt sick as a dog, but I was quiet as a mouse, I was too afraid to wake up Noah. I climbed the stairs, and walked silent like the sun that was rising up in the windows on each of my sides, into my pink bedroom. It felt alien to me, like I didn't belong in the eyes of the posters, and pictures. Like I belonged inside the walls of the Curtis house, not my own. I wondered vaguely if whether or not I took a shower it would mess up the stiches... I decided not, and I padded quietly off to the bathroom. There was no way in hell I'd take one at the Curtis house.

I let the piping hot water pour over me, and breathed in the steam, and I remembered last night, in spite of myself.

Cookies and almost kisses, hugs and Thugs, yelling, and Ponyboy Curtis. I stopped the shower, stepped out, wrapped a towel around my body, and I heard a knock on the door.

"Who's there?" I called, stopping just in front of the mirror. That hand was to dainty to be Noah...

"Uh, I don't know if we met, but, My name is Emily! I'm your brothers girl? I'm gonna help you!" The girl sounded like she was smiling; I couldn't be sure.

Help me with...? I sighed, and I called to her, "Come on in!" I brushed my hair, and combed it over to the side.

She opened the door, and I was taken back, I almost laughed. She was beautiful! Breath-taking. Blonde hair, beveling eyes with dark make-up that made them huge, and I envied her.

"Hey, Annabelle, it's great meetin' you, finally!" She was smiling, as I suspected, and hugged me. Not caring that I was half-naked or that my body was soaked; It was like she knew me my whole life. I hugged her back, and she held me at arms-length. "You're so beautiful! I can't wait to doll ya all up!" Emily called for 2 girls, one named Sandy, the other Evie, and they pushed me off to my room.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait, what!?" I cried, clutching the towel closer to my body.

"Didn't Noah tell you-?" She stopped.

Noah... He decided that having his girlfriend and her pals 'doll me all up' would make it all better? Hmmmm... Maybe it wouldn't hurt-?

"No... But, lemme tell ya somethin'. I'll let y'all do whatever. Ya look great, I'm sure you'll make me look good, too." I sat down in the chair in front of my desk, but turned it around

"Thank you!" The one named Sandy beamed, along with Emily. "I'mma lookacher closet, hunny, that okay?" Sandy asked.

"Fine by me." I smiled.

"Evie, darlin', you bring my make-up witcha?"

The one with cinnamon colored freakles, and chestnut hair who was Evie nodded and picked up a bag that was lain on my bed.

Emily plugged in a ciruclar object, which I promptly remembered as a curling iron. My mother had one, before she left.

Then, they were working, but they didn't stop inquiring me.

"So, you met the boys?" Emily told me to push my lips out so she could put a bit of lipstick, and balm.

"Yeah," I rubbed my lips together like she'd demonstrated. "Ponyboy Curtis... He ain't gotta girl, does he?" I poked the white carpet with my toe, and acted like I didn't give two shakes. It was no use.

"Oooh, Sandy! Annabelle's gotta crush on Soda's baby brother!" Sandy's head shot out of my closet with a smile, and a soft laugh. "I think it's sweet," Evie said, close to my ear because she was curling my hair.

Once Emily was done with my face, Evie took my bangs, and pulled them up in a this poof-thingy, used a lot of hairspray too, and  then they turned me to face the mirror across the room.
