Akihiko finally made it to the studio in the company building where the band was looking at the TV.
"What's going on?"
"Another band is making a debut."
"OK, cool why should we be worried?"
"Because they're being signed to our company and they wanna take our place as the face of music."
Akihiko looked at Takami awkwardly.
"OK and so we're better why do we need to worry?"
"If they take our place we'll get dropped from the label."
Akihiko's eyes widened in surprise and he froze.
"We won't have a band if we can't beat them and they'll still have a band if they lose because they're rich enough to buy a company...and we didn't have a dime to our names until we came here."
Akihiko stood as he listened to Takami.
"Listen boys you don't have to worry about being dropped... You've sold enough records that the company has recognized your talent and will have you stay and make music."
The boys sighed in relief.
"But still you must not lose to this new band or else even if you do sell records you'll slowly fade away and lose fans gradually."
The boys listened as Nagasaki spoke and the stood and couldn't say anything as they try to think of what to do.
"There is a contest for new and upcoming bands that can insure you staying the face of the company if you win."
The boys ran and circled around Nagasaki.
"How do we enter?!"
The boys said simultaneously as Nagasaki told them.
"There are 12 bands and all 12 bands will compete in the preliminary round of the contest and bands will go head to head until only two bands remain. The contest relies on the fans and the audience's vote and if you defeat a band 5 randomly selected people from the audience choose your next opponent."
The boys eyes widened and they listened in awe as he continues.
"The final four bands will have a vote by everyone who they're opponents are gonna be and the final 2 will have back to back concerts that's right 2 concerts each and the people will decide the winner."
The boys listened and Akihiko attempted to encourage the band.
"Cmon guys we can do this we have the talent and will and we aren't gonna let some other band take our dreams from us right?"
"Wait"
Nagasaki interrupted.
"If this was a normal contest it would be easier but I forgot to tell you that every concert in the contest has to have a brand new song that has not been released yet"
The boys stood in shock.
"How are we gonna keep making new songs like tha-"
"Every week the song must be entered."
The boys looked at Nagasaki seriously
"T-thats impossible... Every week?"
Akihiko asked Nagasaki.
"Every week... If your not ready its fine you'll just fade out but before you say you give up I have a question.... Even if you fade out ....wouldn't it be great to go out with a bang?"
The boys stood there and thought about what Nagasaki said as he left the room. Akihiko believed that they were gonna lose.
"We'll be able to do it if we put in a little effort ....I'm not gonna fade away so easily."
Koga said as the boys looked at him with surprise realizing that they didn't believe in themselves. Akihiko realized that not only did he not believe in himself and the band but he gave up on keeping the band known and he was disgusted with himself.
A program came on and to their surprise it was the band that was contending with them.
"Welcome to starstruck news bringing you the newest band that debut with their hit song HeadStrong!!!!!"
The boys listened in amazement as they heard the bands song.
"So this is our rival... Night huh?"
Toshiro said as they listened and the band shocked.
