A white wolf, wearing a black coat and katana, sitting in an office with only a desk and chair behind it. The male wolf had an annoyed countenance as he stared at the door. As if in response to his stare, footfalls crawled closer until a blue fox opened it and walked to the desk.
"Kimata?..."
Kimata the wolf glared and nodded.
The fox's eyes filled with paranoia as he spoke. "I'm sorry that I'm late! I had another meeting and I got off late. No one must know I hired you. Alright Bounty Hunter?"
The wolf nodded and growled in annoyance. "Who is my target, and where is my money?" His piercing eyes drove into the fox.
The fox stuttered as he handed over a pouch of gold coins. "R-Right here sir... Your target is a woman named Rose. She's a snow-leopard with a knack for thievery. I've lost a lot of money in my business from her stealing a lot of-"
The wolf cut him off with a growl. "I don't need to know your business! Show me the girl!"
The fox threw the picture of a young female leopard onto the desk. She was in a brown cloak with blue eyes and purple and blue markings. The fox was stuttering and shaking as he spoke. "She lives just outside the village in a tree hollow..."
Kimata glared at him. "This is all I need. Now leave before I add you to my trophy room."
The fox then raced out of the room.
Kimata stood and started heading for his targets destination. He never asked the personal details of his targets, for he never cared. "Finally some action." He wove through the trees of the forest outside the village, following the scent of leopard, spotting the large hollow in a massive tree up ahead. The hollow was about 10 feet up the trunk, the trunk itself 16 feet wide. "Let's get this over with..." He whispered to himself.
He could smell by her scent she was still home, and the sun was going down. He silently crawled up the trunk and slipped into the hollow, spotting the sleeping woman on a small bed. Kimata drew his sword and walked closer, raising the blade out over the woman's throat, gaining leverage and getting ready to bring the blade down when she opened her eyes and looked up at him, seeming to have never been sleeping. Kimata fell still in shock. She was awake?
"You're here to kill me?" She asked.
His heart shuddered with the look of sadness in her eyes. He stayed silent.
"Answer me!" She yelled through tears as she sat up.
Kimata dropped his sword. He was stunned by the woman's beauty and moved by her courageous words. He couldn't break this woman anymore than she already was. "No... I'm here for you..." He lent his hand and grabbed her, bringing her into his arms, hugging her.
She was crying but looked surprised at his switch in behaviour. A smile was coming to her cheeks. Maybe that was a good thing.
"It's okay Rose... I'll keep you safe. I promise." For the first time ever, the Hunter smiled.
And so did Rose.
