Mahogany woke up to find herself in a completely unfamiliar room. The sheets were green. The floor was green. The walls, ceiling, dresser, door, and headboard were green. This definitely wasn't her room. The green theme was a little too much for Mahogany.
And then she looked down at her clothes. Her shirt was covered in dirt and grass stains, as well as her pants. With how her outfit looked, she couldn't imagine what her face looked like.
She decided it wasn't worth fussing over, since she didn't bring extra clothes.
She finger combed her hair in a hopeless attempt to tame the stick-straight frizz and grabbed her toothbrush from the small bag she had brought.
After making her way to the only available bathroom, she brushed her teeth and washed her face. That's when she started to smell the bacon.
She could hear the sizzling and popping from where she stood in the hallway now, and the smell was tantalizing. She finally made her way through the living room and into the kitchen after having a short lived daydream about eating bacon.
To her surprise, she walked into the kitchen to find Blayde cooking breakfast. Her eyes widened even further when he set a plate of bacon and eggs on the table. He pulled out a chair and motioned for her to sit.
Blayde couldn't be more happy when Mahogany sat down to eat what he had cooked. He had hoped she would be awake in time for him to serve it, and the expression on her face when he set it on the table was absolutely priceless.
As Mahogany sat at the table, her eyes raked over the food for any sign that Blayde might have poisoned it. He eliminated every possibility of food poisoning when he sat down with his own plate of bacon and eggs that looked exactly like Mahogany's.
"So..are you gonna eat breakfast or do you want me to eat it for you?"
Mahogany reluctantly lifted a spoonful of scrambled eggs to her mouth. As soon as the food hit her tongue, she knew it was delicious.
Blayde was absolutely ecstatic when Mahogany's eyes bugged out and she started filling her spoon over and over again to continue eating. Bite after bite of scrambled eggs went down, and then came the bacon. She knew it would be good, so she didn't hesitate to finish off both strips.
Let's face it, when you pretend to hate someone for as long as Mahogany pretended to hate Blayde, you don't expect them to be good at cooking. In fact, you usually expect the complete opposite unless they beat you in a cooking contest or something.
Blayde beamed like he had just won the lottery as he watched Mahogany eat as much as she could, as quickly as she could.
"Blayde, did you seriously make that?" She asked when she had finished eating.
"Yeah. I did."
"Where did you learn to cook?!"
"At home, duh. My mom is like the best cook ever and she taught me."
"Well can she teach me anytime soon? I could eat those scrambled eggs three times a day for goodness sake!"
"No because she only teaches close relatives how to cook...but..."
"But what?!" Mahogany's eyes were wide and pleading with Blayde to let her learn to cook like that."
"I on the other hand..." Mahogany grabbed his hand.
"You could teach me?? Pleeeeeeaaaasseee!"
"Hmm..I don't know.." Mahogany's eyes were begging right along with the rest of her expression. Blayde was basking in all his cooking glory as this occurred.
"Okay I guess I could teach you."
"Yay!"
"On one condition..."
"What??"
"If I teach you, and you have to be told more than once what to do, you have to kiss me on the cheek." Mahogany replied with a blank stare.
"Seriously?"
"Yup."
"Are you trying to tell me something here?"
"Ha! I'd think you would know it by now.."
"Wait..hold on.. Are you actually saying that if I have to be told to do something more than once I have TYO kiss you on the cheek?"
"Yes and that includes now."
"Hey, you never said anything about outside lessons!"
"Ah, but it still counts!"
"Does not!"
"Does too!"
"Does not!"
"It does too if you want too be making those scrambled eggs for yourself.."
"Ugh. Fine. But seriously, how many times am I gonna have to kiss you on the cheek?"
"Every extra time you have to be told what to do is another kiss on the cheek. And it still includes right now." Blayde smirked with satisfaction as Mahogany glared at him. He knew she didn't like the deal, but it was hilarious for him. He loved the idea of Mahogany having to kiss him on the cheek repeatedly..probably a little too much for that matter.
"Do you want to start now?"
"Fine."
"Okay. I want you to grab three eggs out of the fridge."
"Got it."
"Now get a gallon of milk, rosemary, thyme, parsley, and a fork."
"We have all that stuff here?"
"Yeah."
"Okay I got it. Now what?"
"Put the eggs in a bowl. Add a little of each spice and a tiny bit of milk. Put in a little water and start whisking with a fork." Mahogany gathered everything together and started whisking.
"Now turn on the burner and grab some butter. Get about half a tablespoon and put it in the pan on the stove. While it melts you can continue whisking the eggs."
Mahogany got the butter and started melting it in the pan just like Blayde instructed. And then she forgot what TYO do next.
"What did you want me to do?"
"Whisk the eggs while the butter melts. By the way that's eight kisses on the cheek and its only been about five or ten minutes."
"It is not!"
"Nine!"
"No it's not!"
"Ten in six minutes!"
"But...just..no!"
"You might wanna pour the eggs into the pan now. Eleven."
"Uuurrrgh!" Mahogany groaned as she poured the eggs into the pan.
"That's another one for complaining mentally."
