Mahogany had finished making her scrambled eggs when she saw Annie standing in the doorway with a wide grin. Blayde glanced at Mahogany.

"I think I deserve my payment now," he said with a smirk.

"Not until I get go eat these."

"Nope." He swiped the plate out of Mahogany's hands and started running with it. "Hey!" Mahogany shouted. As Blayde can past the fridge, he put the plate on top and continued to go as fast as he could while Mahogany chased him through the house.

"Sorry but you still owe me twelve kisses on the cheek...or..."

"Or what?" Mahogany questioned as she ran after him.

"I think Annie should choose. Hey Annie, what's worth twelve kisses on the cheek?"

Annie looked at him with a mischievous sparkle in her eyes.

"Hmm.."

"Annie hurry! She almost got me that time!" But Annie waited about a minute longer as she hummed over the question, just to be silly. While she was being a goofball, Mahogany grabbed the back of Blayde's shirt collar and turned him around, only to find him empty handed and without her scrambled eggs.

"No fair! Where'd they go?"

"You gotta pay to find out."

"And what do I have to pay?"

"Twelve kisses on the cheek or something equal to that."

Annie finally butted in. "You have to either kiss him on the cheek twelve times or the lips three times. Or you could hug him twenty four times. Whichever one you prefer."

"What?! No! Ew!"

There was a sudden crash at just the right moment, and Mahogany had no chance to say more. All three teens looked outside to see that an overweight gorilla had just jumped onto a tree and somehow knocked it over in the process.

With the past conversation now almost forgotten, the trio burst out laughing and allowed their gaze to drift toward the shore. Mermaids basked in the sunlight with their tails resting where the water would barely graze the scales. Their hair was streaked with unnatural colors that were so bright they almost appeared to glow.

"We should go down there. I need to talk to them," Annie was suddenly very serious.

Mahogany was confused now. Why did Annie need to go talk to the mermaids?

Blayde and Mahogany exchanged a glance. They never really had figured out what was up with Annie anyway. Maybe it was time to find out.

Annie looked back and forth between them. It was as if there was some kind of conversation going on between them that didn't involve words.

Farfalle stared as the scene played out in the tree house. The constant teasing was cute, but really? Annie needed to get a grip on reality. Why would the merpeople give up what little protection they had left? And what of the other creatures with possession of the triangle?

The watery bubble flickered as it changed to another scene. A gorilla tried to swing down to a tree. Farfalle chuckled as she swiped her hand over the image of the tree just as the gorilla reached it. The entire tree fell to the ground with the gorilla still attached.

Farfalle suddenly burst out laughing when the teenaged trio ran to the window to look at what had happened. The gorilla was still alive, but Annie's expression was grim as the others began to laugh hysterically. Annie turned to tell her two comrades she was going down to the beach.

As the two exchanged a glance, Farfalle suddenly realized that they were more than one might think. An entire conversation had just been spoken with no words in just a moment, using only their eyes. Emotions had flickered as their eyes met, and Farfalle suddenly knew exactly what was going on. This was going to be incredibly fun.

A mermaid sat on the beach as the trio walked towards the shore. Her dark hair was streaked with pink, and Blayde wondered if it was naturally that color. She turned carefully to greet her visitors.

"Hello, young ones," she said sweetly.

"Um...Hi?"

"We've come to negotiate." Annie said quickly.

At this the mermaid smirked with determination. She knew Annie personally, and was knowledgeable about her intelligence. This girl would not be her downfall.

"Annie, why would you even ask? You know what my answer will be."

"Ask what?" Mahogany questioned. Who in the world was this? Why would she need to be negotiated with?

"Why, you don't know?" The mermaid turned her head to face Annie. "Did you bring these two and not inform them on what you were doing?"

Annie looked away. They weren't meant to know.

"Annie. What is going on?!"

"I'll tell you back at the house but you have to trust me." Her eyes threatened to fill with tears. Farfalle knew she couldn't tell them certain things, and was evidently using it against her.

"Why are you here?" The mermaid inquired.

"Um..we wanted to come."

"Yet you went with no indication of what was to happen?"

"Uh..yeah."

"Why would you want to come then?"

"Week off of school and extremely dangerous fun."

The mermaid stared blankly at Blayde as if he were insane.

"What is school?"

"A place where you learn."

"And you don't like it?"

"Why in the world would I like it?"

"Why not? Yoiu learn."

"But I'll never use algebra in real life! Unless I'm an accountant or something."

At this point, Farfalle was completely confused. What was algebra? Was an accountant a thing? What happened to tides tables? What kind of stupid idiot would refrain from learning?

Her gaze went around the three, from one to the next.

Mahogany finally shouted. "What the potato is going on here?!?!" She was somewhere in the Bermuda triangle, staring at a lady with a fish tail, and negotiating something when she didn't even know what it was.

Could this day get any crazier?
